My son just joined cub scouts and got to shoot a BB rifle for the first time a couple weeks back. He's hooked (and me). I've been binging ur videos. Love the content. His birthday is next week and I got him the Barra 1200 and got myself the barra 1100 PCP. Really pumped to give it to him (see what I did there). Thanks for another great review JC. You just sold me on a rifle and a scope. My Beeman is a budget PCP, so I ordered a budget optic at the same time. It's a Pinty. For less than $100 I'm impressed. If you haven't tried one, review one. I think the discovery will be good enough to put on one of my higher end rifles. I have to say, I've been real impressed with the Beeman Commander. It shoots a lot better than the price would suggest.

Just ordered that exact scope. Kind of took a chance on it because I was blown away at the quality of their 7075 2-piece scope rings. They are the nicest rings I've ever seen. Fully lapped / line bored and they have a locator pin so the top and bottom rings mate perfectly. Never seen that before but I'm thinking I should have considering what I've been paying for top-of-the-line rings. They are wide so if space on your rail is limited, they might not work for you. I have replaced the rings on all of my rifles with those. Good to confirm their scopes are excellent too.

Hello, As usual a fantastic review of a fantastic rifle. My hat is off to Barra, this rifle preforms way about its price point( don’t raise the price 😉) all the features, adjustments are great. You also picked the right man for the review, JCs reviews are the best on KZbin, he always does the graphic with shot count, which is very helpful, PSI, etc. And goes without saying he’s an excellent shooter. If I might suggest something going forward with this rifle, I am not a big fan of the AR / Tactical look( but I am going to buy one) . But please make a one with a traditional wood stock, and don’t be afraid to charge a premium for it, I would/will buy both calibers. Thanks

I would protest a bit however the putting down of Snowpeak. 🙂 Snowpeak came up with this design and Barra may have improved it a bit but koodos to Snowpeak for making this rifle for Barra and for being the ones to come up with the main design

The 250Z is like the FX DRS at less than $1/2cost. Would go with 25cal for serious hunting. PCP's need adjustable power, even if only a hammer spring screw for different situations. Great review.

They are good rifle powerful almost 1000 FPS , and accurate the only issue is the trigger is a little bit heavy you can up grade it whit the GRT 3 trigger just google it, and also the trigger guard is plastic you can get that replacement from JG AIRGUNS, I had one of those and I sold it, but I still have One Gamo hunter 440 in .22 cal , it’s the same rifle as yours , GREAT RIFLE 👍👋

Would you recommend this gun or a marauder for an experienced break barrel guy that has no experience with PCP (AKA-nothing in regards to accessories)?

8lbs, and I assume it's front-heavy? Looks like a great bench gun, but I have to imagine the balance is atrocious. I've had good luck with the Discovery scopes, too. I picked up a really cheap 3-9x40 (maybe x32, can't remember) and stuck it on an old Ithaca .22 WMR. A guy out at the range asked, "What the hell is that scope?" I mean, it looked cheap with factory *stickers* on the turrets. I told him it was some cheap Chinese scope and handed it off to him knowing full well he'd be blown away by it. Sure enough, he looked down the scope and said, "Holy shit, that glass is CLEAR!" I'm genuinely stunned at how sharp the reticle is and how clear the glass is. I've got a handful of Vortex scopes and a mid-range Leupold that aren't any clearer. Parallax and eye relief are the only two points against it, but even then, eye relief isn't bad if you're only asking it to do 3-9 power. 6-24 power, they're unusable.

i like how its 3600psi max fill pressure rather than 4500psi so less wear and tear for the compressor it's so much more efficient for sure and you get 45 shots average out of that too

Looks like Barra had Artemis / snow peak take their Artemis M 30b and throw another stock on it I have an Artemis m 30B it's a pretty sweet shooter super lightweight so traditional style mine in a Woodstock the Tactical design they went with is well Barra

Actually, I initially thought the same thing. But this is Not a SnowPeak. Looks very similar, but Barra has their own engine. I specifically checked on that with Barra prior to the review 8:25 / 34:05

Why do you have to put the pellet in backwards? You can just drop them all in from one side, what you you talking about i have the same rifle, those mags are like all the others umarex and benjamin. Just rotate the clear shield clockwise will it snaps into place then drop in all the slugs or pellets.

Starting at 28:00, JC charts performance at reg setting of 2,000 psi and hammer screw flush. Different settings will result in more or fewer shots than the 45 at these settings. The vid covers everything.

Not uncommon. I have several PCP rifles that don't like the slugs. Some do and some don't. I think it is the combination of the barrel, and the pressure behind the slug. Thanks again for watching!
