I see a vh140c preamp pedal shootout soon. Bob Ross seems way darker than the flesh rot. Definitely has a old school death vibe. Great video as always

You're right I am doing that very shootout soon, also, no it's not way darker than the flesh rot, if anything the flesh rot has more low-end.

Rad! I've got the SNK VHD. Great pedal. Does the 140 thing for me. I just pair it with an external boost, but yea this is a good option!

Haven't tried the empress, but I don't believe it's based on a 140c, I believe it's doing its own thing.

Well the effigy is this just without the boost. The Fleshrot v2 is more tweakable and can get more modern sounding, this and effigy are just that old school kinda suffocation sound. Both are cool, just depends on what you want.

What power supply are u using with this? My pedal has a loud high pitch squeal when running thru return..any ideas?

I use a walrus aetos. Maybe try turning the gain down? I'm not sure what's going on there.
