This is MJ at his apex. Peak MJ. From the fire red 5’s to the cardinal 7’s. Circa early 1990-late 1992/early 1993. That’s peak MJ.
@Daveyboy_RS33 ай бұрын
87-93 MJ was his best individual seasons. I like to think that 88-89 MJ was the greatest all-round player in NBA history (Especially since he asked to play PG for the last 24 games of the season) averaging 31/9/11 in those 24 final games... Everything ran through him. Anytime he wanted to he could penetrate the paint, get in the air, having all the defenders close in and then while in the air just dish it to Cartwright, Grant or Pippin for a quick flush. Or he would just finish himself. Being who he was created so many opportunities to get the ball to open men right around the basket. There was no way to stop him

And to think people actually compare LeBron to MJ is laughable. Stats truly don’t mean anything . MJ’s game is unmatched. Raw athleticism, with amazing skills and finesse, add a killer instinct for winning and you get Michael Jordan.

MJ is better but it's definitely not laughable if you truly watch the game. Kobe and Bron are there, it's just that MJ's high athleticism and high fundamentals are a mix that takes him over the top. Thing is with KZbin we only see the good highlights, but MJ had flaws in his game too.

Why can’t you just let them both exist? Both were phenoms. LeBron was a grown ass adult at 17. He’s had a great career, takes care of people. Jordan was great as player, not so much as a person, and is the greatest player in NBA history. Just be glad you got to see both…

@@hg4956 Stop it Jordan age like fine wine the difference between MJ in Kobe is Kobe jack up bad shots in LeBron just doesn't have the jumper and the killer instinct or the will and can't play off ball plus LeBron never had a coach to hold him accountable

Thanks for doing these videos Essential Jordan! These videos never get old. I lived and breathed this stuff, my buddy and I trying to do some of his dunks on an 8 & 1/2 - 9 foot hoop. As we are both just 6'0" Mid highschool we could dunk a mini-basketball on 10' but never a regulation ball, hands just not big enough to palm the ball. But on 9 feet we could do pritty good on, had a lot of fun good times, and these videos remind me of when we were just trying to be like Mike. As I'm 45 now and got about a 2 inch vertical now. 🤣 Cheers!!

I actually got one clean dunk down with a regulation ball on a basket in the gym in my life, after a b ball practice one day in high school, I was lobbing the ball for myself, (missed on many attempts) but just one time it bounced just right for me, & I caught it with two hands just above the rim and slammed it down clean, and hung on the rim. Good times. And true story. I was lucky enough to attend 2 Michael Jordan basketball camps at Elmhurst College in Illinois, (probably 300 kids/camp Jr high age - senior highschool age kids) It was a normal basketball camp excep, this camp included one hour of instruction/demonstration in the morning from MJ himself. One autograph session, and one picture day with MJ and your team. The rest of the day you go with your team and a camp coach and work on drills, fundamentals, and scrimmages ect. Summer 91, just after the Bulls beat the Lakers and 2nd time, Summer of 93, (I was 16), just after they beat the Suns. MJ came every morning, did an hour demonstration about fundamentals, how to shoot freethrows more consistently, how to utilize the triple threat stance with the ball, how to protect the the ball from getting stolen, defensive funds etc. And Every day he would pick a few random kids from the group, to work on what he was showing us. All 300 kids raised there hand when he was picking someone. 1993, third day of the camp I raised my hand like everyone else & and he looked right at me & picked me to shoot freethrows. (I couldn't believe it) I was so nervous I'm sureI looked like a deer in the headlights, standing there, and in your mind is shell-shocked that's MJ talking to you. . Missed my first shot badly, he tossed it back and said take your time, go through your normal ritual and knock it down. So I took a deep breath and blocked him out, and nailed the second one. He tossed the ball back at me firmly and said nice now do that again, but this time he stood in the middle of the lane smiling at me. I wilted like a flower. Took my few dribbles and when I shot it he jumped up and smacked it down, said now let's work on defense he said are you gonna guard me or what? So I tried, he said don't stand back so far, come on guard me! So I kinda tried a little harder he went to his right, I shuffled my feet to my left, he shot a short jumper and missed. He grabbed his own miss said you gotta rebound that come on!! backed out top of the key he said now guard me come on!! He did one jab step, I backed up he took two hard dribble towards the basket and two hand slammed it. I thought and felt awsome. Then said alright, good job, who's next? The whole thing was probably 2 or 3 minutes. One of the ultimate highlights of my life. So yeah MJ actually dunked on me. So yeah, keep these videos coming I love it👍

Some people are saying he wore them but with the darker red color (varsity red) instead of the pinkish color used in the 2014 release. Same happens with the 2019 black infrareds, Some say the pink color is the original and some say he only used the Bulls’ red kind of color. Which is true? Is the pink color what he wore in reality or did he wear the varsity red versions?
@essentialjordan232 жыл бұрын
The 2014 pairs were certainly more pinkish than they should have been, but I wouldn’t go as far to say Mike’s pairs, or the OGs were varsity red. I have OG pairs of both, and they are more of a true infrared like the Air Max 90.

Question for Essential Jordan, I asked this on (23 forever) nobody replied. So game winners & buzzer beater wins. Two different things. MJ of course missed a few buzzer beaters. But so over the years how many game winning shots did MJ make? And who is 2nd on that list? I looked it up and it says buzzer beaters 9 for MJ. Big Shot Bob Robert Horry? I don't know. I looked it up, it says MJ had 9 buzzer beater game winners. But what about game winning shots that put them up by 1 or 2 , when they still needed one more defensive play to win like game 6 at Utah? That number is way more than 9. Mabey a couple dozen? Somebody help me out here please. There should be a forum where we could just chat about the good old days.🤠
