As a local Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour where you moored are the gateways to the Whitsunday Islands which are home to many spectacular island resorts and it’s only been in the last 10-15 years that Airlie Beach has become a real (luxury) destination in itself

Nancy, your haircut is lovely! I really like the advice you both gave about not feeling it was necessary to fill every single day with an excursion and that it was nice to take a day to wing it and just enjoy walking around. My husband and I will be spending two full days in Waikiki before sailing around the Hawaiian islands for a 7 night cruise. We left one day open in Waikiki to walk around on our own. On the cruise we have the last full day free when we’re in Kuai’i to maybe wander around the port town of Naiwiliwili and then maybe enjoy an afternoon at the pool on the ship and having some cocktails before dinner. Some free moments are often welcome respites! Thanks for sharing your tips with us! Enjoy!

I have been enjoying your adventures very much! I was a little embarrassed when you went for a walk around the bottom of Queen Street in New Zealand! I went down there today to visit the art gallery which is up from the port, and when I got off the bus I was surprised at how much it had changed. It does not show us Kiwis in a very good light! You are right that the South Island is stunning! There are also some beautiful and amazing things to do in the North Island and if you come back I hope you will enjoy more aspects of our beautiful Aotearoa!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I have not done a video on walking shoes. Short story, our daughter was involved in a bad car accident that crushed her foot. Her orthopedic surgeon said Hoka shoes are the only shoes he recommends. When I got our daughter her first pair I bought my first pair and have never gone back to anything else. They’re rather expensive, but I stand by them.

Manly cost, the salon on the ship is very expensive and Nancy is very frugal. ☺️Pus it made for a nice day off the ship

Thanks for the nice surprise. We use AT&T from the US. The way ours works if we turn our phone on in a foreign country it costs $10 for 24 hours up to a maximum of $100 for a month. Tere are other plans out there such as t-mobile that give you data in all the countries that's included. So they're all a little different. You need to look at the plan that will fit best with how you travel. Thanks again! 🥰

Nancy, as a Spaniard question here. Didn’t they use fresh fruit to make the sangria? It breaks my heart that they don’t use fresh fruit. Also when you are here don’t ask for sangria it will be a turist trap. Ask for a tinto de verano. A real sangria with fruit is more expensive to make and the tinto de verano is wine with gaseosa and lemon or lemon soda. Great haircut!

Thanks for the suggestions. We will remember that when we're in Spain in a couple months they actually did use frozen fruit, but the reason they did was it was so hot out it was used to keep it cool while you're drinking the carafe but we agree it's always better if you can have the fresh cut fruit
