Can a plane fly higher than its rating? What are the dangers? The engine crapping out from lack of oxygen if it's non turbo or something else?
@neekonsaadat253210 ай бұрын
The flap safety switch is an iffy design choice. If passengers pop the doors in an emergency landing, the pilot will be unable to deploy flaps before touchdown. This could be a serious hazard, please consider adding an override! For instance, ignition engaged could be a simple override as you most likely intend to have doors and flaps at the same time if the engine is running and the doors are opened. Beautiful aircraft though!

You had me sold on the 182. Now the 206? I'd love to have one! But, in reality, most all airplanes are so expensive anymore, they are out of reach of the normal wage earner..
@Triple_J.13 ай бұрын
An RV-10 is a more economical option than any Certified aircraft. The best bargain in Factory has often been the Mooney Acclaim/Ultra and Ovation. They were typically $500k-750k, very well made, fastest piston singles in the sky.
@cturdo Жыл бұрын
A truly outstanding aircraft!
@zevnafte51682 жыл бұрын
Fantastic aircraft that does the mission it’s built for and more. Just can’t understand the current price tag on it, $750k? I feel like that’s a bit absurd especially for an aircraft that is good but isn’t much more than a slightly larger 182. You can buy significantly more capable aircraft for a lot less. Extremely large price tag for an aircraft with pulleys and levers, aluminum frame, and the same cockpit avionics package as a 172S. No doubt an extremely capable plane but just doesn’t offer anything else beyond being good at its mission coming with a premium price tag.
@Triple_J.13 ай бұрын
The T206 stands to generate a lot more revenue than a 182 in commercial applications. It can actually haul a whole cabin of paying passengers or valuable cargo. For example, running a skydive operation with a 206 would be significantly more profitable than a 182, while burning about the same gas, having the same fixed hanger costs, and annual inspection costs. Not to mention re-sale value for these reasons. The 206 also gets a lot of use in Alaska and Northern Canada serving small settlements or ranches where flying in supplies with something like an DeHavilland Otter would be prohibitively expensive for a individual, family or small business to afford. You can probably hire a 206 and pilot to deliver essentials out in the boonies for perhaps $1,000, where an Otter delivery is going to be 5-10x that price.
@zevnafte51683 ай бұрын
@TheJustinJ sure Justin and those are valid points but that doesn’t equate to buying a new 206 with an absurd price tag. Hence my point. No skydive operation is buying a new 206, this aircraft has a good mission but the only way to have it make sense is buying older used models.
@dam42742 жыл бұрын

@FamilyManMoving2 жыл бұрын
Yup. Diamond did it, and I bet Cirrus follows soon, but before Textron/Cessna. Once they jump, anything running LL and even UL avgas is a dinosaur. There were LL shortages on the east coast a few months back (hit or miss at various airfields), but Jet-A was plentiful. That will get much worse in a few years, especially since the UL replacement is proprietary (read: expensive and hard to make).
@davelew862 жыл бұрын
It's not just the winds it's The thermals from the darker patches of ground cover emitting a higher temperature or heat radiation that's really where you get the bouncing from more than the wind. But that's wind and thermals combining together to create what is defined by turbulence
