@@t.j.payeur5331I see em as more of a triple album and usually play em both together like that. “Sway” is easily one of my Top 5 favorite Stones tunes, both are phenomenal and Stones at their peak in my book, and I couldn’t have a single one without the other. Then again, maybe some can’t really grok the Keith thing of tracing the roots of Americana here. It’s the sound that inspired them to collect records and form the band to begin with, and will always go real nice with a smooth shot of Bourbon to wash it all down.

I am glad you emphasize the grime and sleaze. That's really what separates the Stones from the pack, no matter where they venture or what musical territory they're exploring. The entire Exile album is a rough-hewn journey through the swampiest, dirtiest, dingiest Americana-soul, gospel, rock and roll, folk, country, you name it. They do it better and more authentically than most Americans.

Hello La & Che, here's a new band to give a listen, if interested. "Savoy Brown - I Can't Get Next To You" (by the channel: Savoy Brown) --This song was originally released by 'The Temptations" and you might find it interesting to check out the original so as to hear both renditions not to compare, but rather just to hear how both groups put their own flavor to them, if interested. And I 'll leave a link to their tune also. Anyway, this song by Savoy Brown is from their 1971 album called 'Street Corner Talking' this blues rocking album features the soulful vocals of Dave Walker and the masterful guitar work of Kim Simmonds. Savoy Brown was a blues rock band formed in Battersea, Southwest, London in 1965. They were part of the late 1960's blues rock movement. While they may not have achieved the same commercial success as some of their contemporaries, their music remains influential. They helped spawn the 1968 British-bllues rock movement. Their energetic blend of blues and rock placed them alongside giants such as Cream and Fleetwood Mac. Savoy Brown opened the eyes of many American teenagers and future budding artists to their own home territory blues artists. And here's the link to the legendary R&B, soul group that made this all possible. (hehehe) 😏 "The Temptations - I Can't Get Next To You (on The Ed Sullivan Show" (by the channel: The Ed Sullivan Show) It's always fun rocking with you two fellas. Oh, and I have totally enjoyed your journey with the movie documentary of Muscle Shoals. There were so many amazingly talented artists, both black & white that came from the Delta. Many artists such as Percy Sledge, Wilson Pickett, The Staple Singers, Tamiko Jones, just to name a few. I will try to leave some suggestions for a few of them in future, if interested. And as always, I enjoy rocking with you two, thanks for sharing. peace out~

This is the Stones channeling Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis. The best known songs on this album are "Happy" and "Tumbling Dice" -- classic rock staples. But it's the non hit songs that really define this album -- which is one of their greatest. It's raw, timeless rock, blues, R&B and country -- even a bit of gospel style going on one or two songs.

You could probably cut the reaction after his solo….which has got to be at least 4-5 minutes long. The whole performance would probably be too long, but there’s a perfect place to stop after his solo. This piece is so beautiful. This and a couple of great live performances around ‘93 or ‘94…Have You Ever Loved A Woman and Five Long Years. Believe the last two were at Fillmore East. I'm not saying it's a bad song, but it's a track that adds nothing to the band's discography or to the gigantic "Exile" album itself. This album has 18 tracks and at least 14 of them are fantastic. On the other hand, Rip this Joint is one of those tracks made "to complete the album".
