Thanks for posting this video! Very helpful! I run an Elite Force Colt M1911 Tac also, and I love it! This "review" definitely gave me some peace of mind for my money spent on this gun! Btw, the CO2 cartridge causing malfunctions is the direct result of some of the gas turning into dry ice, hence not enough pressure for it to fire. So definitely wouldn't work too well in a polar vortex or arctic conditions.

Its because co2 works going from liquid, in co2 droplet to gas, when it shoot out, co2 guns work only at a temperature range it you freeze the magazine it will stay in the liquid form, because the ambient temperature will be too cold for that change from liquid to gas to take place .That is why you see a velocity drop when ambient temperature drops and vice versa, velocity increases when is hot outside. SEE charles boyle law of gas behavior to further understand the behavior of co2 gas.

I don’t own this gun, but a lot of my friends who aren’t really into Airsoft use them for little backyard skirmishes. One of my friends has had his for 3 years and has never once disassembled or lubricated it. It’s still running strong.
@AlexMageethefirst7 жыл бұрын
As a scotsman who owns one of these, I can confirm that it performs really well in our miserable winters. The trick is to drop a handwarmer in the mag pouch or keep them inside your jacket to raise the temp of the co2 bulb a little, it doesnt matter how cold the gun is if the mag is pressurised. And the reason you have ice forming on the mag, is that the expanding gas cools it below freezing, and moisture from the air turns to snow. Same way a fridge works.

I'm a Marshall at my local field and I have some knowledge in proper use for CO2 pistols/mags. When you froze it and then shot it the CO2 was really cold so the gas is really cold so inside your mag where the CO2 goes there are little o-rings and when a lot of CO2 is real eased on to them it freezes them and that is not good at all. So when you shot it and it racked and then just started leaking gas like crazy it was freezing the o-rings which can break the mag
@elliottkamaloski10497 жыл бұрын
ok, so when the CO2 gets cold the pressure is actually much less than what it is at a normal temp, which is common knowledge, but my theory what happened with yours is that the co2 got cold enough where it was just an able to use the allocated amount of gas to push the bb and cycle the slide due to the decrease in pressure. so in theory non-blowback pistols would work way better in cold due to all of the gas being used to push the bb out if the barrel, also further increase shots per co2 cartridge.

I live in north Idaho and gas blow backs are defiantly gas hogs. There are times when you can only make it half way through a 20 round magazine because there just isn't enough pressure even from the Co2. Co2 may be better than green gas but it still isn't immune to the cold.

@RiceGrainz7 жыл бұрын
I too see a lot of comments on the reliability of this gun but I've had 2 hammers completely crack on me. I'm not sure what's wrong. The first one completely cracked off and I had to get a new one, which is currently on my pistol at the moment. Now it, has also cracked. Keep in mind, I only skirmished with the first hammer once and the second one hasn't been fielded. It has cracked from me test firing. Also I stripped the screw on the hammer pin that holds the hammer, beaver tail and safety in place. I think it was glued on and I had to pretty much drill it out to get it to come out. I had to get a replacement for that too. I saw another video that said I could call Umarex to buy replacement parts and I did. Problem was they sent me a hammer pin that was rounded and smaller than the original so it didn't hold the safety on properly. I had to put a rubber band on so the thumb safety doesn't fall off. That and the second hammer is also cracked now but not yet to the extent of the first. I don't really want to keep a stockpile of extra hammers lying around if at all possible but I will if necessary. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello I am a beginner in airsoft should I buy a sidearm? and if so which one?
@unbeatable900pubg25 жыл бұрын
It depends what you want to do. If you want to be a sniper you would definitely need a sidearm. This is because the sniper is used for long range shots and you need to have something for close quarters combat (cqb). What I would recommend is an aeg (automatic electric rifle) because you would have to have many years of experience as a sniper to be good at it. With an aeg you can get in on the action and kill more players. If you should decide to do this I would recommend a sidearm because you don't want to full auto a player right next to them. You don't have to have one though. But you could get a low fps aeg and be perfectly fine. If you choose to get a sidearm I would recommend the gun used in this video. It is a elite force 1911 tac or tactical edition. It is very reliable, looks good and can fire at a reasonable fps. If you have any questions please ask. I will respond rather quick as I get notifications. Also if you read this please tell me so I know.

cold CO2 turns liquid which reduces the pressure it pushes out. Hence why paintballers use who use CO2 use expansion chambers to warm the CO2 back up, among other reasons, the faster you fire the faster the CO2 Expands and the colder CO2 gets. hence the frosting CO2 tanks on a Paintball field.
