@Katharina-rp7iq4 жыл бұрын
When my cousin had postpartum depression her husband was endlessly patient and when she couldn't sleep and was worked up, even if it was in the middle of the night, he'd get up and take her to the kitchen to cook rice pudding for her (her favorite as a kid) cause it made her feel better no matter what she said or did. He took care of the babies whenever possible, even took half a year of unpaid paternity leave (he had 6 months paid paternity leave) to help out and when he realised that everything was just too much for my cousin about 6 weeks after the birth of their first child he took her to my aunt's and uncle's place and took care of the baby by himself for a week, only coming over for a few hours in the afternoon. That one week of 'vacation with mommy' worked wonders and they managed to raise both of their babies just fine. Sometimes young mothers just need some space and to not have any responsibility for a little while, they need to feel that they are not alone and don't have to carry the burden by themselves.

Just need to be careful with this to where you live. #3. Skin I say this in that for some when sleep. You can end up sweating. Can end up itching. Now I am not sure some realize, but your own clothes as your shirt act as a skin scratcher. You might not rrally notice this till you start to get a back itch to hour shirtless body. Clothes also help regulate body tempature. The body tempature changes or can though the day. Basic as in and out of home. When you go to sleep it changes. Your body will have to adjust newly to the change of no clothes if it is new for it. So can end up feeling more cold,clam cold.

For the dad who panicked at the explosive poo: I was active duty Navy when I had my first son and his father (Air Force) was stationed in another country. My uniform at that time was dress whites. I would usually have a "house dress" or a robe on over my uniform if I had to deal with the baby while I had on my uniform... The women at the day care though it was funny but understood the need! Once, right before I was about to take my 2 month old to daycare, he messed his diaper. I had on my robe to protect my uniform so I put him on the couch and I sat down to do a quick diaper change. As soon as I released the top of the diaper and exposed him, he exploded with a projectile poop! Unfortunately, I hadn't fastened the robe and it got splattered me on my white skirt AND my white shirt! Breastfeed baby poop is nasty stuff. The uniform was ruined! That was an expensive, "Oops!" Oh, and the guy at the dry cleaner tried and apologized but the stain was there to stay!

It's not logic, it's emotions and good intentions done wrong. And now he's leaving her for 5 days, so she has to work, and look after the baby. As others have said, when he leaves, change the locks, and tell him that if the boys are more important than me and your daughter, then go and live with them xxxx

Story 1: Your own mother is invading your personal space in your house and calling your body (her daughter's), disgusting? Kicked to the curb. Story 2: Absolute Karen moment. Police would have been contacted. CPS if it ever happened again. Story 4: There isn't enough context to lay blame. Is the husband the Breadwinner, or do you both work? -Case 1 (Husband is the Breadwinner): NAH. Not writing an essay about division of labor. A serious talk with husband may be needed about any assistance with domestic duties. -Case 2 (Dual working family): NTA. Domestic duties are split. Why is he taking time off so soon? -Case 3 (Mother is breadwinner): NTA. Marriage Counseling needed or this marriage is going south.

It really shouldn't matter if he is the only one working. He wanted a child with expectations we don't know about and when he realize taking care of a baby is harder then he thought. He didn't think twice of abandoning his wife for a sausage fest.

Most people don't realize it, but diarrhea is actually dangerous for a baby. 1 cup of diarrhea to the ratio of water in the baby's body is like an adult losing 1 bucket of water. So, he's NTA on the hidden danger on the baby. But somewhat the A though for the cleanup thing.

Story 3 NTA: I can't blame him, alright. That's gross, and partners should help partners especially when one of them isn't good with something. Now, did he know she was in a meeting? If so, then it would be yta, but I doubt he did. So, in that situation, him asking for help is totally normal, I would have, and can you honestly say you wouldn't have? If anything the wife is an asshole because she yelled at him when he asked for help, sure he interrupted her but he didn't know he was. He would be an asshole if he didn't clean, his anger is justified and so is wanting to get help, but just leaving shit everywhere to soak in and stink up the room is unthinkable.

Story 4, nta, the only reason my stepdad can get out of the house as often as he does right now despite the newborn is because I'm here to pick up the slack. They have no one besides a grandmother who ridicules everything the mother does. Sorry if having a child isn't as easy as you thought it would be, but grow a pair and deal with it. Imagine being the mother in this situation and having to deal with a distant husband and a newborn whom you have recently given birth to, and a mother in law who doesn't get boundaries

As far the blaster baby...I’m going to say NAH, maybe even NTA because it’s all well and good to judge but I’ve BEEN there, and when it happens to you, you do lose your head a bit since this tiny child that you love just turned into a scene from the Exorcist but with bazooka diarrhea and alarmingly impressive aim! It’s NORMAL TO FREAK OUT WHEN YOU’RE COVERED IN LIQUID SHIT. I sure did! Y’know why? Because no one is expecting that! And after the immediate shock wore off I was alarmed for the baby (my niece) because for all the knowledge in my wheelhouse I absolutely blanked on if this was normal or worrisome. Of course my SIL (the mother) couldn’t really help in that moment because she was too busy pissing herself laughing at my shocked expression and crap in my hair all while pressing against her C-section stitches trying not to laugh just shouting; “Diaper the demon baby. Diaper it first!” And then we dealt with the cleanup. But c’mon, if there’s ever a time in your life you’re allowed to panic and maybe not react as well as you should it’s when you find yourself suddenly COVERED in a fecal Jackson Pollock people! And yes, you DO need help because you need to clean the baby, the room, and yourself, while also making sure the baby doesn’t get it on it’s face or hands, and while it’s y’know ON you, cleaning or moving the baby is hard without spreading it around. I don’t know ANYONE who wouldn’t need one minute of help there, just to hold the kid while you get the crap off you, so you can then clean everything else up. Unless you’re a nurse and deal with this often it doesn’t matter how much you’ve mentally prepared yourself, in the moment, it takes a second to adjust and deal! But the same is true for the Mom. She didn’t walk into that knowing what she’d fine and is allowed to be irritated and react badly as well. But come on people, if a baby exploded on you, would you honestly not be alarmed?

This comment! I love it! Yes, I could understand the Dad in that story freaking out. I don't think he was an asshole for freaking out, I'm a Mother. My husband would have freaked out too back in the day. But refusing to Dad up and clean up the mess? That's where he got his A-hole badge. Sounds like Mom's working from home to support the family, Daddy needs to knuckle down and clean up some bazooka poop. LOL

Story 2: NTA. I would have straight up called the cops, explaining that my roommate abandoned her child after being told in no uncertain terms I would not provide child care. I'd let the cops know that I was leaving the door unlocked and they could come get the kid and take it to child welfare or whatever and to lock the door behind them when they left, because I could not stay to deal with it. And then I'd go to work. Because that is exactly what that roommate did, and deserved. She knew that there was no offer of childcare and attempted to force OP into it by abandoning the child and sneaking it into OPs bed (how creepy) OP was a saint to find an alternative to that. And a fool, because if that person they got to babysit did do something, even if some accident occurred, OP would probably have at least enough legal culpability to make it to discovery if the roommate sued over something bad happening since they decided to involve themself and make an arrangement for child care.

Story 3: If he's a first time parent, NTA. Any first time parent, male or female would freak out if this was the first time it had happened. I'm a first time mom. And I cried out for help when my child started going while I was changing her.
