What an amazing video! Timestamps with descriptions, no long and boring intro, helpful tips, just amazing! I really appreciate the fact that you didn't bloat your video with your opinions like "this sucks and it needs to be better" because there are so many people who don't have the time, money, or patience to get an amazing keyboard and don't want to be offended when watching these kind of videos. I also really appreciate that you didn't change anything about the keyboard, you used the same keycaps, stabilisers, and switches as the original and showed how you can genuinely improve the keyboard without spending too much extra money on replacing those parts. Anyone with this keyboard could easily watch this video and change those parts if they choose but it's clear that it really comes down to preference and not a requirement. You didn't speak at any point in the video but you made up for that by using great camera angles, framing, sequencing, and you added your personality to the video in a completely visual way (particularly love 08:20 when you move the switch out of the way). I don't normally comment on KZbin videos but I felt the need. You've made an incredible video that's both relaxing and informative, somethin that even the veteran KZbinr's get wrong a lot of the time. Keep up the great work!! Q: Why don't you bag lube your switch springs?

I thought my k780t was modded, nice attention to detail here! I ended up doing: - Neoprene foam in bottom case (instead of your silicone) - Tape modded - Desoldered Huano Blues, replaced with Glorious pandas lubed with Krytox 205g0 (resoldered, no hotswap) - Replaced stock stabs with Cherry Plate mounted ones, holee modded. - GMK Bento clone PBT keycaps For the price this board is great considering it works both wired and wireless.

Thank you. Your mod was great as well. I did plan on using Neoprene but I figured liquid silicone could "mold" into the bottom case. I bet yours sounds really nice and poppy with Glorious Pandas! I also planned to replace the stabs with JWKs but they arrived 2 weeks after the shoot. And great choice to go with Bentos. Yup, I would agree. Even though I have a custom keyboard, I always guilt-trip myself when I daily drive that. So K870T it is!

I will use some Akko Jelly Pink switches (really smooth stock) and some PBT Pudding Keycaps. For mods I am planning on doing the normal foam mod, tempest/tape mod, PE foam mod (between the PCB and plate) and some stab mods. Do you know if there are aftermarket cases for the K870T? @@funxify7848 I've had similar issues with the spacebar stabs as well. The easiest way is to give them a proper balancing. I used a flat acrylic block to do it (Holee Mod felt mushy so I removed them after). Place it flat on the block and check if the wire is curved. Then turn it upright and do the same thing. And also move the wire to the edge of the block and check if it's a 90 degree bend. Mine were slightly off, by adjusting the bend the ticking went away.

@KLACKERD
@KLACKERD 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you so much. Did you leave your stab wires in between the plate and PCB? Or are the wires still intact with the stab housings? There is one way, by holding one end with your tweezers and try slotting the stem back. Then repeat on the other side. But you might risk damaging the stabs entirely, so I would advice you do it at your own risk. But yeah, the best and safest way is to desolder the switch and place them back properly. Perhaps you could ask a friend who has soldering knowledge to do it for you? Or try it on a sacrificial PCB? That's how I learned to do that.

@KLACKERD
@KLACKERD 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you so much! I've not tried replacing them, but the thought did cross my mind. The dimensions for the current battery is about 110mm(L) x 40mm(W) x 3mm(H) or 4.4in(L) x 1.6in(W) x 0.12in(H) at 3.7V. The clearance on the bottom case tray is quite limited as you have the standoffs for the PCB. And there's about 5mm or 0.2in of height clearance. It should be possible as long as it's 3.7V. But due to my limited knowledge, I would advice you to experiment and proceed at your own risk.

@@chokage3744 I used liquid silicone. Try typing keywords like "Liquid Silicone A+B" and you should have the results. Beware there are different types of liquid silicone. 50:50 and 70:30. This means the ratio between the silicone and the hardener. For mine I used 50:50 which is easier to measure. And get a measuring mug. The one I used in the video was bought from a shop that sells baking stuff. Ultimately, you can get them from Arts & Crafts shops or hardware shops too. I didn't really measure how much to use. A good practice is by emptying the bottom case (must remove battery), tape off all the gaps, lay it on a surface (make sure the bottom case sits flat), mark it then pour water until it hits the markings. Then pour the water into the measuring mug so you'll know how much liquid silicone to use.

yo can you help me out, sometimes when i accidentally press something on the left side of this keyboard it switches into some weird mode where i cant press anything and whenever i press shift it just changes the language, i cant even press enter and whenever i click something in the taskbar it just opens another tab. i really hate this and i rly need some help. i think it somehow gotta do with alt or tab or shift i dont know.

@KLACKERD 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, I've personally haven't encounter this problem before, but could it be something wrong with the shift key? Here's a link for an online keyboard tester: keyboard-test.space/ Perhaps the shift key is being registered the entire time. Hence, when you click on a tab it duplicates it. But that's just my guess.

Hi , can i use the socket 7305 in the same keyboard? Or only socket 305?
@KLACKERD
@KLACKERD 3 жыл бұрын
You can, 7305 actually has a lower profile than 0305. But it's a bit trickier to solder due to it being shorter.

Hi! Is it possible to use Gateron/Outemu/Kailh hotswap sockets? Those with the black thingy that you solder on the PCB
@KLACKERD
@KLACKERD 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, the ones I solder on are called Mill-Max 0305s. I would say, if your K870T is the hotswap version, they should be fine. But if you're planning to Mill-Max a soldered PCB, you would have to be on the look out for SMD compatible switches. Because the SMDs on the non-hotswap PCB are extruded and the switches requires a gap.
@romulogenuneto
@romulogenuneto 2 жыл бұрын
@@KLACKERD Thanks a lot for the tips. I was actually having a hard time finding the Mill-Max sockets with a reasonable shipping rate to Brazil, but I've managed to buy them from a Czech store. Anyways, that's a great video, I never thought it was possible to turn a keyboard into hot-swap. This will surely help me once the sockets arrive!
@KLACKERD
@KLACKERD 2 жыл бұрын
@@romulogenuneto You're most welcome. Yeah, shipping fee is a real pain. But wait, have you made the purchase yet? If you have more budget, and if you don't mind, you could try Mill-Max 3305 as they have a lower top profile so the switches can fit better. But good luck with your board too and glad that you enjoyed this video. Happy Keyboarding!

Hey there, it might be caused by the lead residue left in the solder hole. Make sure to suck up all the lead before re-inserting your 0305. Happy soldering!
