@@AjCatanzaro All good, AJ! I am an old fat guy now that used to go to the Pontiac Silverdome to watch Ward, Johnson, Stanton, Bradshaw and JM Bayle do their thing. I used to do what I called race back in my early 20's but what I really did was let the real riders use me as traction on most weekends. It's great seeing you pass on your knowledge to others doing something you love and enjoy. Keep up the great content and stay True North! Take care.

I'm now realizing I need to work on mobility. I lean forward with my knees because my back is so damn tight and I can't properly hinge. Jett can just pitch over and touch the bars with his chest, that's some insane flexibility.

Love you AJ, your logical approach got me back into the sport enjoying it now as an adult more than I ever did even as a teenager/kid. The biggest thing I’ve noticed that makes it hard for people to feel like their attack position is working for them is that most people ride in too low of a gear while trying to develop these good habits and consequently end up having a hard time initiating their core and upper body into their acceleration.

The biomechanics term for the leg component he is describing is called hip hinge. This is typically driver by hamstring and hip flexor shortness from too much sitting (called lower crossed syndrome). This also generates lots of back compensation (tucked butt) and responsible for most non traumatic back pain in developed world. I fix 75% of my patients pain/dysfunction who have lower crossed syndrome by restoring their flexibility and then once they have the needed flexibility, the strengthening finishes off the rest of their issue. This mechanism is what is used for the deadlift.

I think the semantics are misleading. A rider is not attacking every single second one in that position I disagree with calling it The attack position. I think it also turns a lot of casual and recreational Riders away. This implies that this is only for racing. It's correct body position and technique. Hinging the hips so the center of mass of the body is Central to the center of mass of the bike thereby manipulating CoG. Too much with the racing metaphors and analogy. I think you're a little too confident as well try to be more ingratiating

For younger riders, this may be an easier position to attain. You have to be pretty flexible in the hamstrings so a bit more difficult for older riders to get right. It’s one thing to get yourself in the position on a stand but to bend at the waist while riding and not collapse forward you have to be loose and flexible in the hips and hamstrings. Any exercises for this? Yoga maybe lol.

You'd have to specify terms. Like, homogenized bikes on an SX track would give AJ the edge in experience. And racing some rutted outdoors track would favor Jett's MXGP background. Their tracks are super gnarly. I think it'd be a good race but you need to lower the risk factor or raise the incentive to see AJ bring out his real speed. He wont risk anything in a friendly race, and Jett totally will. Straight rhythm would be a great venue for it to raise the incentive. PastranaLand style pitbike race would be a way to lower the risk (kind of lol) But Jett beat him in the 1 armed race. So it's currently 1 - 0, Jett. As far as i know.

@@garyalexander2480 well, I gave various bits of logical reasoning as evidences for why I answered the way I did. You have just given feelings. Which, i can appreciate that everyone has an opinion. But if you dont support that opinion with facts then that opinion sucks as an argument. It's the debate equivalent of "nah uh, you are!" Age and experience over youth 9 outta 10x. (assuming the race has a large enough reward to risk ratio for AJ to get sendy)
