I’m a long time MXer and studied with some of the greats. But AJ’s detail and communication style in teaching is really second to none. I’m only watching the videos as this point but looking forward to riding with these guys soon. Thanks AJ for all the great material.

Can't thank you enough for the recommendation to foundation training. I bought this guys book about ten years ago and didn't recognize the value. 10 years later I get it. You are such a great asset to all of us riders!

If you're a older vet rider the anterior pelvic tilt must be reinforced with a strong front core muscle group. I had too much anterior pelvic tilt from weak front core and it caused to much lumbar spine extension and my L4/L5 discs to bulged causing sciatica. Hard and painful lesson to learn the hard way. I'm now off the bike for a while doing PT and trying to get my core stronger before I even attempt to get on the bike.

Great video AJ! The only thing wrong is head position. See Chase Sexton interview on how your neck should be positioned - this is also based on foundation training. I'm working on it! It's a work in process.

this is great info dude. thank you! interesting question, what advice would you give to a paraplegic? My brother is in a wheelchair (so obviously can only sit) and still rides moto a bit. Hes on a Surron storm Bee.

Along with the heel drop you’re also weighting the peg down, back, and in correct? Seems like an important detail to mention
@themotoacademyYT2 ай бұрын
Bingo! It happens naturally with the heel drop.

What would be the strength exercises to strengthen the posterior chain?. I believe we are all guilty of dropping knees forward because of weak posterior chain muscles. Quads are naturally stronger than hamstrings.

Bent Over Rows, hip thrusts, kettle bell swings, deadlifts are all great!

My thoughts are that these techniques are effective. But the caveat is that if you're completely out of shape you'd be relying on riding yourself into shape. And that's a recipe for injuries. You really need to supplement this practice of technique with a workout regimen that compliments the particular movements and resistance positions you'll be in while riding.
@themotoacademyYT2 ай бұрын
Absolutely. That goes for almost anything in life. You are definitely limited to how well you can perform everything. It all starts with something, for riding definitely start with Foundation Training on KZbin! Great exercise to get into riding shape and flexibility.

Has anyone snapped a hammy or calf muscle from the attack position? My biggest fear when feeling that stretch AJ talks about is hitting a violent bump and stretching my hammys/calfs to the breaking point?

If you get a chance to go to one of his classes. GO. It is hard work to change your riding ways because you are so used to doing what you learned from when you were a kid. So it is work you have to put in and study and keep perfecting
