Very, very special player. Nobody can be taught what players like Bergkamp could do, it came to him naturally, all you can do is cultivate their gift, which we don't really see today with all this stat based football, "shoot low, play it into the box for tap ins" and choosing players to train at a young age based on strength and speed over skill and intelligence. Back when football really was an entertainment sport, and players could dazzle you with magic on the pitch.

It's insane how he's kind of the underrated one these days. His peak was probably the highest out of them. That position doesn't really exist now at high levels. He doesn't need 50 square meters behind the defender, doesn't need 2 players overlapping. He uses skill and creativity. Today's players can only run...but not play.
