Ajwa Dates On A Diet- I Just Fell In Love Again!

Ajwa dates- amzn.to/44uoHJM have been around more than 1500 years- how is it they just came into my life? My local Whole Foods just started carrying Ajwa dates and they are so incredibly good! But they are also pricey. And now the much cheaper Medjool dates (which have been my favorite for years) seem plain in comparison. And I have just learned about the Central Date Market in Medina, Saudi Arabia- with over 150 varieties of freshly delivered dates! "The dates are calling and I must go."

I have never liked dates but when I watched this video and heard how you described the Ajwa date flavor and that got me curious. I called my local natural food grocers but none of the sales people had heard of them. I went on Amazon and found several options. I read reviews and most were good. Only common complaint was that they arrived kind of dry. I took my chances and ordered a box for 20 bucks. I ordered it this past Friday and they arrived today ( Sunday) one day delivery! I opened it ~ I’d guess there are about 40 dates in the box. All are moist and DELICIOUS!! Just how you described them. I might be hooked! Lots of health benefits and taste like candy. Thank you for turning me on to these tasty gems!

Really enjoyed this video! It was really informative and I also found it entertaining. (Describing flavor and taste is very hard and you pulled it off; watch out Gordon Ramsay.) A quick question for you about dates and diabetes/prediabetes. My doctor wasn't very clear and just said to be mindful of portion sizes for all foods. Wondering if you had any insight on this? Thanks for the nice comments! I can't offer any medical advice but I can tell you that I was prediabetic when I decided to improve my diet by cutting out ultra processed foods and started eating mostly whole foods- including dates. Over the course of a year the weight slowly came off (about 50 pounds) and my blood sugar dropped out of the prediabetic range. If I had actually been diabetic I am not sure if the sugar in the dates might have caused some issues. Always best to check with a doctor or dietician about your particular situation.
