BOOM! Nice One! 😀 👊 I wish there was a way to include the midi program change inside of a midi CLIP, so we wouldn't have to do it manually by hand. Would be amazing if I could just launch a new scene and have that automatically change the Digitone's pattern. I only have so many hands. lol Keep up the great work! 👏👏

Thanks! You can put a program change in a clip using the list editor. Push 'Clip" go to 'List' press 'insert' and select 'MIDI automation'. Select program change and pick a value from 0-127.

Great video! I had a question i was hoping you or someone else on here might be able to help me with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to connect my JDXI to my akai force. I have all 4 tracks from the JDXI loaded as individual MIDI tracks on the force. The problem is that if i change the loaded program for one of the tracks, it changes the loaded program on all 4 tracks to different programs. Is there a way to change the loaded program on each individual track, without it changing the loaded programs of the other JDXI tracks? If that makes sense.... I know its probably a simple fix, but Im stumped at this point. thanks again in advance for the help

Hey man first off thank you for these videos. Very very informative. I was wondering if you could help me understand something. I have a Digitone and a Digitact and I’m really loving them. My need right now is to find something that would allow me to actually arrange patterns into a song structure from those devices. I was hoping the Akai Force would allow me to do that by assigning patterns to a pad on the Force to trigger them in various orders. This video shows me how to change patterns by going into the menu and turning the dial to the next thing which is great but is there a way to actually trigger them in an arrange mode scenario? Thanks for your time and for the insight.

Yes, the Force can. I do not see a way to change the bank yet though. So if you have something like the Blofeld with multiple banks, I'm not sure how to get to the different banks.

You can use a USB or midi controller to play notes into the active track of the force. Be aware that you cannot use the cc encoders yet on a midi controller.

Hi, I'm also working out how to blend the Digitone and the MPC live in my liveset. But, following your explanation, it doesn't program change so rapidly, it waits for the next bar in the Digitone before changing. How did you get the timing to be so solid? Was it straight out of the box or did you had to squash some timings errors before making this video? What could be causing the issue? I read on the Elektron forums that the digitone is not working really well with PCH and that is has timing issues, just like mine. Yours seem to be syncing up quite well.

Thanks for the great video Matthew! I'm thinking about buying a force, but I still have some questions. Maybe you could answer some of them :-) Does the force have a piano roll view for midi clips? I want to sequence some hardware synthesizers with the force but I'm not really sure how this would work. Especially for complex polyphonic melodies... Thank you :-)
@vitoloperfido62 жыл бұрын
hello, for each track of the digitone, can you assign a midi chan and program change?
@MatthewStratton2 жыл бұрын
From my memory program changes actually change the pattern on the Digitone. There are options in the MIDI settings to change the MIDI channel input on the DIgitone for each of the 4 sounds and it is flexible in that regards. There are only 2 audio outputs on the Digitone so you have to mix the sounds inside the digitone.
@9000knobs5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for all your work on the force. I am waiting untill Sample disk streaming is really a thing. This will free up RAM, and make it able to host my livesets. Do you have any idea how the updates are coming along ? Is it really confirmed that disk streaming WILL be a thing ?
@Localghosts442 жыл бұрын
This is s super late but disk streaming and the arranger are here. Newest updates are really a game changer and it’s a lot less expensive on reverb than it used to be

man your videos are way to basic...you basically put effort on super useless explanations i.e: naming tracks, coloring tracks ect. You also show a simple Midi master/slave feature and show something interesting: program change BUT without mentioning how/if it's possible to write it down as a clip or automation in the grid. Your content is far from enough.
