Hi Matthew, i have my force for 3 days and i want to tell you that beside all Tutorials out on youtube so far, yours are the best and are getting better. Thank you and keep going.

Thanks for the support. Haven't had it two weeks yet, but I will do more detailed tutorials as I learn more.

WOW! This inspires me. Thank you very much! I've connected my Roland FA-06 to my Force and dropped a Vocaloid in, but I have not tried doing this yet. Will give it a try. Thanks again.

Hi, thanks for the great tutorials. I’m starting out so go easy on me.. but I have two turntables one technics 1210 ( got the 3/4 lead extension for them) and a usb turntable... can’t find any videos on how to set these up with the force (the correct input/outputs) to enable samples. When I try this the force isn’t recognising anything. The levels aren’t even moving in record. Any help would be appreciated.

Very nice example on the sample editor, loved how you got rid of the exes sound on the high hat closed, this takes me back to the old days but with a lot more power in a very small space. I'm just on the edge of getting one my self. :)

Can you save those chops individually without saving as a drum program?
@MatthewStratton5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can chop and extract and save the individual samples if you want.

Ok so I can resample but only record 1 when on 1 and two single wire to number 2. And set for 1 and 2. And only getting 1
@edensarchitect68496 жыл бұрын
Quick tip from what I usually do, might save you some time if you normalize the whole sample before you chop it so you don’t have to normalize each individual one.
@MatthewStratton5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get you. I normalized each one to give greater control over the volume of each slice.

does the force have "full/half" level velocity, like the mpc

2 questions what do you mean when you say flatten the pads? And also when you sample to the force do you have to name the sample/ instrument every time to save it in the force?
@MatthewStratton5 жыл бұрын
Flatten pad takes all the edits done to a pad and resamples the sound on the pad to create a new sample. Then all the settings are reset so you can continue to edit the new sound. The Force gives a generic name to each sample once it is created. Renaming the sample helps the user keep track of the sample.

Matthew Stratton thanks the info and the videos!

?. I was thinking about getting the live until I heard about force. Is it built for serious beat production.? The reviews I saw were more loop base beats and dj performace based. I like live cuz It seems more beat production suited instead of performing with beats.
@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
At this point I think the LIVE is a more "complete" unit. For one it has a song mode and a feature that you can bounce your audio tracks (this way you can mix and master in a DAW). Some people like sampling, and the sampling workflow is more known/refined on the MPC. That being said, you can potentially make the exact same quality of music on either one. The workflow is different. If the Force gets a song mode in a future update and an option to bounce your tracks to audio it would for sure be a step in the right direction for music/beat production. Akai for sure is targeting DJ performance/ Live loop based performance. The included sounds are even more geared toward "electronic/dance/house". Also, as far as I can tell, you need the MPC software to load mpc expansions into the Force or the LIVE. That software is not included with the Force, but is included with the LIVE.
@sairbashir97846 жыл бұрын
@@MatthewStratton Cool. I think that I might go with mpc live. I have pushII and always wondered if ableton would do a standalone version like the force. l Thanks for the reply.

Hey Matt have you figured out how to note repeat on the Force?
@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
The only place I see it is in the arpeggiator. Press ‘shift’ and ‘arp’ then change the action to note repeat.

Yeah! Thanks for the comment. I've been going overtime with the Force. I'm digging it so far. How are you liking it?
@Ajonra6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Stratton I like it. I got it on Friday and it was a bit of a learning curve. I am a MPC Live user. I thought I would just sit down and everything would make sense. lol I’m starting to understand the work flow and how it could be even faster than the live. Ive relied heavily on your videos to understand. Ive been reading the manual too.
@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
Yeah...the manual is a very good resource. Some things are not so self explanatory. I am glad that you said that about the workflow vs the live. I don't want to say too much yet about the two. But, I will say this: The more I use the Akai Force the more I like it. More videos to in the pipeline too. 👍

Can you do a tutorial on setting up a live performance template on the force? Setting up and routing send fix, assigning macros, etc? Thanks for all your work, it’s made a really big difference in learning the force!
@eliaspagnani28276 жыл бұрын
I’d love to have it immediately loud a preset session I have saved is that possible? Also Yes to video on sends
@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
There is a way to set a template. In the preferences go to the project load/save section. You can set a template file there that you can access every time you power on the Force or start a new project.

Do you like it better than the live? I want to get either this or the x to use for guitar jamming. Just can’t figure out which one to get
@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
Do you have a LIVE? if so I would say use that if guitar jamming is what you want. Just buy a cheap guitar DI like the Berhringer V-Tone Guitar Driver. It has line out that you can plug into the live and cost $30. Unless you just want to spend the money, I don't have an X so I can't say. The Force is too new to recommend yet.

wish akai would focus on one " flagship" device instead of dropping all this extra shit. the force is essentially MPC X 2

It is extra to you, but others may find it more valuable than the X.

@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
Lambo Music no worries. I have been hearing many points of view the pst couple of weeks. I’m glad that the mpc x and mpc live are still getting updates and support. If you read the release notes on mpc 2.4 there are multiple bug fixes as well as the new effects and other major changes.
@eliaspagnani28276 жыл бұрын
They clearly share similar software, the air plugins were given to both units, so technically they are. Only difference is hardware basically
@CXtheproducer16 жыл бұрын
They need to add Tap to slice like the other MPC'S and the PUSH 2. This is one of the only things that's making me say no to the unit. If they add that then I'm sold because chopping samples by threshold isn't my thing it needs a manual chop function and done from the pads not just by the screen.
@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
Yeah. That is keep a lot of people back. You don't have to use threshold by the way. You can manually add the slices like in the MPC using play cue. Just used threshold in this because I used manual in my other chopping drums video. But, still, no tapping the pads to audition slices, you need to touch the screen.
