Man, I'm thrilled that you have this for your channel. I look forward to your videos on how to use it, seeing you use it and maybe how it does when paired up with the sp-404 mk2. We all know that MPC's are wonderful sequencers via MIDI! I'm really excited to see what you do! Congrats on your new gear!

I loved it when it came out, bought one back then but sold it at some point. I've bought another one used 2.5 years ago and found out at home that it's somehow broken. When I sequence something, it get's out of sync as soon as I add another track. Timing is completely broken at some point. I assume it has to do with the internal memory or something like that. Moved to the SP400MK2 and don't regret it. Working on samples is so much easier ... if you need any parts for cheap, my MPC500 looks quite good, case is ok, buttons and pads are ok.

The SP is certainly more user friendly when it comes to sample chopping but I am surprised how good this is for its age. Where are you selling yours? 🙂👍

@@nervouscooks I am not actively trying to sell the MPC right now because it’s broken but would sell it if someone is interested.

ay man Was thinkin of buying this mpc The reviews online aren’t the best for it - saying samplings slower than other systems and the workflows slow But I’m in love with the appearance and portability of it Was wondering your advice? If it’s worth avoiding it and saving up for a different system or if you think it’s actually alright

@@gmsp if you do a lot of sample chopping you might find it frustrating compared to other samplers. You’re right though, it looks great and it’s soo easy to take places. Check out my other video if you haven’t already where I show you the quickest way to sample chop on it. You can then decide if it’s for you. I’m not sure where you are in the world but here in the UK they don’t sell for huge amounts. I picked this one up for £120 so I bought it just to keep in my collection. Sometimes I don’t want to chop stuff up and just use one shots with the chromatic mode or a good loop I sampled. It’s very capable for pretty much everything it’s just the chopping that is slower than other devices. I’m quite patient though and don’t mind a slower process if I’m having fun. 👍🙂

@@nervouscooks ah true Here is Aus I found one for $459 / £230 I’d be doing the same I reckon with the one shots and that hey. Thinking about getting either the mpc500 or MpcOne - but unfortunately don’t have enough for the one at the moment but by my understanding the 500 kinda has most of the features of the new mpc software but just harder to operate? I reckon id be putting splice samples on it etc if that’s possible The screens on the one / new mpc systems are nice, how you can move sounds on the grid so easily but I really like the portability and idea of the mpc500 Sorry I know that might be a long read lol but heavily appreciate ya response will check out that video N big ups Man U put me onto koala awesome koala tutorials / cook ups🙏🏻

@@gmsp I think the One is a lot more sophisticated. They do share some features but the One is a lot more user friendly and has a bunch of modern conveniences. You can load up splice sounds directly with a One. If they were my two choices, I’d go One personally. It’s pretty future proof, way more features and sample chopping is a breeze. If a 500 comes up dirt cheap then ok but I’d save for a One. I have the One + and it’s a beast. Not as portable as a 500 but honestly think about how often you would actually use it outside. I always thought I would but I rarely do. 🙂

I just bought a 1000, I love it. Mine had some non responsive buttons, open it up spray them with contact cleaner. Mine all work great now. It’s an easy job. They are slow compared to Koala but I don’t mind the longer process. You using JJOSXL?

@@nervouscooks I also have the ep133 that i never use. i should of sold that but now the resale isnt great.. i most likely will keep the 1000, sounds great. The 1000/2500 are one best mpcs made... I tried to clean the buttons but it only helped on a few, just going to buy a new board its easier then soldering time wise. Ya i have jjos. Love it.....what was the little box you use to switch the sound channels on your set up video?

Just a quick note, the 256 gb ram thing is rubbish. I bought exactly the same brand as you, but 128GB, and it works fine. It all shows up as 128GB etc.
