I like how you demonstrated the X/Y Effects do not have multi touch functionality. I'd like to see that upgraded in the future, but I love just about everything this MPC has to offer.

it's obvious you guys are push and ableton users which is fine i saw the new slimline push and its amazing looking and simpler has great features with the new roland variphrase time stretch technology in it. But for me I'm mpc man and I think the work flow on this will be slightly different but easier to learn in the end.
@jobananas30529 жыл бұрын
This isnt the 80s and 90s anymore akai has tried to unsuccessfully grab the in the box market. If they stuck to their guns and kept it standalone hardware theyd still be industry standard EVEN if they had to go in the near $2000 price range to make it happen. I get the whole MPC=HipHop thing but Brand loyalty isnt going to get you the best possible software controller experience in this case.
@timmiller43269 жыл бұрын
Dude it's all about what inspires you. Remember these are just controllers man in actuality you could work ableton live from a cheap controller
@jobananas30529 жыл бұрын
+Tim Miller true. most of these are absolutely unnecessary. the difference between piano roll on this and piano roll in your daw is negligable. thats why shelling out close to a grand for this just doesnt seem worth it.

I noticed 22 minutes into the video you adjusted the Qlinks, but the Touch screen did not show the parameter you were adjusting. The Touch looks awesome, but the lag and the number of times you touched the screen to get a response was a concern. When Akai came out with the MPC Ren you did not show the software during the demo. It seems like your hiding something (maybe the the full 2.0 update : )). Qiuck touch fade in and out would be nice to see for samples, quick time stretch and other thing I would not have to click "do it". I hope the "Return of the King" is true.

I have a problem. I sample from Vinyl and now got this mpc touch. How do I make precise "bar length" say my sample is a hair short before it loops again...... Say 3.8 bars..... But the mpc touch forces me to go directly from 3 bars to 4 bars. Meaning my loops seem to have to be precise in time....? How can i get a precise bar length to loop my vinyl samples
@AdamTaitLifeStyle9 жыл бұрын
hey man. just create an extra bar. go in to the sequence and some how I found you can delete "beats" just press the pencil besode sequence. other then that you can mess woth the bpm until ot fits your loop.

+AdamTaitLifeStyle Sorry about the spelling. Can't be fucked to delete it and do it again. hope this helps.

@jobananas30529 жыл бұрын
Push 2 for sure dude. Especially if you're already using ableton. The touch screen is nice for menu browsing but otherwise seems laggy during the XY demo, it also doesnt seem like a multitouch capable screen. Id rather have more pads, more knobs, the touch strip, the clip/scene workflow, and more complete control of ableton. Why scroll through drum sounds with this thing when you can load a huge Drum Rack in ableton across 64 pads. If this werent tethered to a computer itd be something great to produce anywhere with but the fact is youre gonna end up in another DAW anyway.

Well, Andy is usually on point but I'm still not quite sold on this unit just yet. One thing is clear...The primary functionality between the hardware and software can be done on the touch surface. Although, that appears to be a likable workflow it still doesn't mean the mouse and monitor still wont be needed. The sounds are amazing and the sonic possibilities would be very wide in variety. Personally I'm torn between this and the new Push 2. Same price but which is really the better offer, in terms of workflow.
@word2RG9 жыл бұрын
+M. Williams - If youve already taken the time to learn Live and you dont find it overly complex, then the Push 2 will be a better choice. On the other hand, if you do primarily sample based beats and you dont really use all the extended capabilities of Live, then youll find that you can actually do more with Akai's new MPC environment. In other words, things you may have struggled with in Live will be easier in the MPC. So, you'll actually be able to do more with your productions. Also, you can pick up a Ren or a Studio for little money, right now. Id go with the Renaissance because of the massive price drop and its just a fantastic piece of hardware. 16 Q-Links with a built in phono pre, phantom mic power, multi full-size midi, dual headphone outs.... its a steal at current prices! (but thats just me) Good luck!

I'm thinking Akai really needs ableton's marketing team for this machine. I'll wait to get some hands on time before I decide to touch or push.

I diggin my MPC Touch.... Not matter what Akai puts out there's always gonna be people who just don't get it! To say that it's garbage says more about you than it does the product, that just came out by the way.... How much time have you spent with the TOUCH if any at all??? Clearly your post iz not about the product..... just sayin!

Nope... I stand firmly by my comment, (production wise) there is nothing the MPC touch can do that the MPC Studio can't, because they are both simply controllers for exactly the same software 1.9
@nikoblaze51789 жыл бұрын
Do you have the MPC Touch??? I have all three the Ren, Studio and the Touch... Trust me there's a big difference.... Hey but thats something you would have to figure out yourself!!!
@andrewrichardsuk9 жыл бұрын
+Niko Blaze OK, lets say for example you are using the MPC touch and I'm using the MPC studio, and somehow the both ""Controllers"" broke. We are both left with exactly the same software 1.9 which is identical. Now back to my first comment... There is nothing you cant do (""Production Wise"") with an MPC Studio or Ren for that matter that you can do with the MPC Touch. I'm sorry if it was confusing for you.
@nikoblaze51789 жыл бұрын
Oooh.... If thats the case you might as well just use the software and mouse it to death! lol The MPC Touch (""Hardware"") is exactly what I need... And with that being said I can't speak 4 anybody else... To each his own, and whatever works 4 you use it!
