Awesome Track Mute is working properly again in this update. I love working with beta software. Also, thanks for 'slice to audio' guide! It is a relief to see you experimenting with sound. It really 'resonates' with me :) It shows how versatile MPC is.

Thank you. There's a big Problem with Ethernet to Midi (not wifi) isn't working. Unfortunately isn't fixed yet. IP Adres isn't shown correctly. For example if it's set in MPC to 192.168.2.50, the Software Akai Network Midi Controller on Windows shown as 192.168.2.51. Always shows a number higher than it is , so that Midi doesn't work yet.

You could still automate mutes before the update , just changed the R to W . Worked for me, but good update .

Noticed a bug that made me remove the beta. My system-8 is triggering a beat on the mpc when keeping a key pressed for a while, even if no physical or logical connection is there. It somehow finds a route through my pc?
@noisetheorem2 ай бұрын
Until event mutes become a thing, and a little bird told me they’re coming, you can create midi tracks that point to your drum kits or plug-in tracks and use track mute on those and it acts like you would expect. It is kind of a hack,but it’s how I’ve performed live with the MPC since the current generation software existed.

Hello, can you tell me if MMC is working in this MPC 3 ? (that I haven't tested for the same reason as you didn't update for your currents projects, and also because I have only one MPC : ) MMC receiving had been broken since 2.14...
@wul012 ай бұрын
There’s never been an option for “event muting”, there is however an option for instant muting on or off, I can’t get that to make any difference on the track mute page where the tail remains regardless of the setting , I do get instant audio muting on the track mixer page with program selected at the top left. there is a distinct difference between track mutes and program mutes neither of which are effected by the instant mute setting. All this on 2.15.
@teftymusictech2 ай бұрын
Akai confirmed it's not working like in MPC2 and will be added at some point in MPC3. I've never turned it off in MPC2 so I don't know what the setting is called.
@Might-Be-Ai2 ай бұрын
It does exist in 2.xx I'm also not sure what the setting is called but you can have audio mutes or midi mutes, 3.4 is using audio mutes which chops all audio dead, muting midi allows any audio still playing to continue playing after the mute, which is why in song mode you were able to have an 8 bar loop continue to play from a 4 bar track into the second 4 bar track even with mutes and the 8 bar could still be heard until it finished, in 3.4 it gets cut as soon as the mute is introduced at the start of the second 4 bar track.
@wul012 ай бұрын
@@Might-Be-Ai there is no audio/midi mute option in prefs in mpc2 .
@Might-Be-Ai2 ай бұрын
@@wul01 It's instant muting when it's off it allows midi to continue and effects tails to continue, and it does make a huge difference.

Ist now possible to arrange your tracks on the padbank like in 2.15? I miss this important feature really. In 2.15 was many things also the sequences seperatly. Is the instante mute function, also back?
@teftymusictech2 ай бұрын
Only the things I mentioned in the video have been added with this update. If it wasn’t in the beta before, then it’s still missing.
@unclemick-synths2 ай бұрын
Great video as usual 👍. Interesting that the audio track features have been improved. Are they still limited by the sequence length? That's the main reason I don't use them in v2. My entire use case for the MPC is creating Songs built from sequences so the "entire song in one sequence" thing is a no-go for me compared to just running a DAW on a laptop.
@wul012 ай бұрын
How do you mean “the way it treats audio tracks is better”? It seems the same to me.
@teftymusictech2 ай бұрын
Wayyy better. For starters they’re no longer in this separate area reserved only for audio tracks. Second they’re now in the mute page, so if you want to live mute an audio track you don’t have to jump several pages back and forth. Third they’re in an arrangement view now so you can see other audio tracks and midi tracks together. That’s off the top of my head. There’s more things.
@wul012 ай бұрын
@@teftymusictech yes, from that respect. fair point. Or points.
@LeoColtrane2 ай бұрын
@@teftymusictechagreed. but now you can't delete tracks per sequence or change the order around without it affecting every other sequence. It became a uniform process as opposed to a blank canvas whenever you want to start a new idea in the same project.

Re Beta.... not for me at the moment. Arp doesn't work on the key61 (as they have recognised) unless this version fixed it... and lack of anything but 4/4 time.... and 3.0 broke my machine regarding the pich and mod wheel working (and still doesn'twork now under 2.x!) - it is possible I have a hardware failure, but hell of a coincidence. All fine before the beta as I'd just finished an album and used pitch bend/mod extensively. Strange. I also really like the old pad mixer screen... I look forward to it further down the line. One thing it is pushing me towards though is getting the MPC X SE with another keyboard such as a Fantom or Nautilus. More coin :) Quick question for anyone in the know.... if I do get the big box, is it easy enough to transfer all my plugins and sample packs / licences? I am fully loaded on the key61 !!! :)
@teftymusictech2 ай бұрын
Yup, the beta is a bit too rough for me at the moment for primetime. As for transferring, licenses are easy, you just gotta login and activate all the goodies. For projects, as long as they were on a separate drive, then very easy to transfer to a new machine. ALSO! Make sure you deactivate all the stuff on the prior MPC before you reset or sell it. The activation system can be a pain in the ass if you don't deactivate stuff first.
