Cool, I'm on vacation and sitting in front of the computer at 07:51 in the morning watching you soldering your MPC. :-) Life can be really nice. Have a good and healthy new year. PCE, Tom

my dude is back with a new vid! Thanks man, I'm fixing one of these myself. The top 3 pads are DEAD, and they don't sell the sensor pad anymore. I found a video on cutting slits into the dead sensors to let air back in, hoping to finally attempt it this weekend.

hope it worked. My right directional pad is wonky and I want to try slicing the sensor.

Nice work! I gotta get one of those spudger tools for the ribbon cables.

Incredible useful. I'm in awe of the utility of the mighty spudger. I got mine from ifixit.com. It came with an iphone battery repair kit. I call it a spudger in the video, but it turns out a different tool is referred to as a spudger. The one I used is called the "Opening Tool" www.ifixit.com/products/ifixit-opening-tool

happy new year! how long does your mpc500 last on the eneloops? with the backlight off?

not sure, i've never measured. I usually have a power adapter with me. I suspect it'll last through a weekend of heavy use
