Ned is not just an honorable man. Ned is a man that is completely haunted by the many wars he has been in. Especially the one with his best friend Robert against the Targaryens. The man that he grew up with, and the man that accepted the many atrocities the Lannisters committed against the Targaryen children. He just could not bring him self to do the same thing the Lannisters did, back to them. I cant blame him for that. The way i see it, the only thing he could do at this point was to just leave. But, he felt obligated to his friend's memory.

Ned also made foolish mistakes. He could've not told Cersei that he learned about her kids, allied with Renly, or pretended to bend the knee to Joffrey but he's too honorable.

Wow, I"m amazed at your very good intuitions about the characters and the plot. :) I admit that at first episode, I saw you struggling with names and the cruelty of the show, I didn't expect you to pick up everything so quickly. Many first time viewers don't feel it coming at all. They trust Littlefinger. They don't understand that kidnapping Tyrion was a mistake. You did so quickly ! :) You're great !

You guys are gonna love Charles Dance, he is an amazing actor. While his character is a piece of shit, there's something about his acting that makes you kinda love to hate him. Ned Stark...sigh, love that he's honorable, good person, and just trying to do the right thing, but he is in a place where honor is something in fairytales. It's terrible what happens to the Northerners, but it is a known fact Starks don't do well when they go to the south. Also, dont forget first episode there was a dead direwolf with a dead stag's antler's in its chest. That had bad omen written alllllll over it.
