You two are relationship goals. Simon knew when to push Martina to try new things even when it was scary, but obviously didn't push too hard. You have fun wherever you go, and you can see how much you truly love each other in every single video. I love when you two are silly with each other, but also when you get serious. I see bits and pieces of that in my relationship, and I hope when we're finally together (long distance sucks) that it can blossom into something as wonderful as you have. I'm experiencing chronic pain in my back, and my boyfriend is as supportive as Simon. We love to be silly with each other too. Watching your adventure, Simon and Martina, makes me excited for the adventures to come with my partner.

The video with the Halloween Starbucks drinks was bad camera and sound and you two complaining about being old. It was delightful regardless of the issues. Now you give us this beautifully shot, informative, playful, etc. video and it was also delightful. The common denominator is you two - you make the videos fun and enjoyable with your humor and knowledge while rolling with the punches. Honestly, I thought I would have to behave very seriously at an onsen but you two made this fun, like bar hopping but with semi-nudity, relaxing, and drinking milk. Autumn is my favorite season and this just looked like heaven to me. I am starting to love Simon's OH HELLO whenever he sees a dog and the dog sees him too. That needs to be a ringtone or something. And I will now have Hips Don't Lie stuck in my head for a while with 'Shakira Shakira' replaced with 'Akita Akita'. THANKS, MARTINA.

What is it about Japanese women that makes them so amazing? When I was in Tokyo earlier this year, I went into a public toilet that only had 1 western style toilet and multiple squat toilets. Someone was using the only western one, and there was one other woman waiting in line (NO ONE was using the squat toilets!). She waited a little and then politely told/showed me (in English) that there were squat toilets as well, I shook my head and said "nooo!" and she laughed and said "me too". After the person using it left, the woman then quickly looked inside and then offered me some of her tissues as it didn't have any toilet paper! Fortunately I'd already prepared for that as it seems to be quite common in the train station toilets, but I was completely blown away by the kindness of a stranger AND her sense of humour. I hope I never forget that, as weird as it was lol

Fun Japanese tip: Even though people translate "hajimemashite" as "it's nice to meet you," you only actually say it at the beginning of your first conversation with someone. In English, we often end our first conversation with someone by saying, "It was nice to meet you," but it sounds odd to say "hajimemashite" at the end of a conversation in Japanese. Instead, you can say something like "o-ai dekite ureshii desu," which means "I'm glad I got to meet you." ^ ^

I don't know if you mentioned it but Nyuto Onsen goes back 300 years. You were walking the same paths as Japanese travelers did in the 1700s. I've only been watching your channel since you moved to Japan, but I've noticed the quality and artistry of your videos noticeably going to a higher level. I'd love to see more interviews and interactions with Japanese people as you did with the chef Saito video, another beautifully done episode.

YES I love that you've brought the old format into this! You guys are the reason I'm moving to Korea so this nostalgia is everything!

The astounding beauty of the koyo (fall foliage) and onsen is enough to inspire the poet, artist, musician and photographer in all of us. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry...but I almost choked on my drink seeing the thumbnail for this video. The kanji reads (as Chinese) "NIPPLES HOT SPRING VILLAGE" LOL xD I'm guessing the Japanese meaning is more along the lines of "Milky Source" rather than "Nipples"...

Hi just a random commenter. But I've been watching you guys since high school and throughout college and your videos really help me get through the day. The last 4 years I've been preparing to go to medical school which has been tough and really difficult at times. There's been a lot of sleepless nights and Friday nights spent alone studying watching snaps of my friends having fun. But watching ya'lls videos during my breaks in studying really helped me along and made me smile. I just found out this last month that I was accepted into medical school and I just wanted to thank you guys for (unknowingly) coming along with me on this journey! Keep making videos, I have some more tough years ahead of me. Sorry random commenter signing off.

I love videos like this so much... one of these days I'm gonna visit Japan and go to an onsen. Looks waaaay better than my lava showers, honestly.

I saw the title of this video and just about choked on my matcha au lait because I actually live in Akita (Katagami City) and I took a day trip to Nyuto and the Tazawa area last week😂 (to enjoy the changing leaves and the onsen of course). I can't remember the name of the onsen I went to, but it was traditional and tiny and the scenery was gorgeous. My friend actually went to Tsurunoyu a few days ago and said that he almost couldn't stand the sulfur egg smell, but I've heard from other people that it's one of the coolest onsens you'll ever visit. The fact that you guys came all the way up and really enjoyed your time here makes me really happy and #proud.😭

So my boyfriend and I have been trying to decide where to go in Japan for vacation and this video sold us on going to Akita to visit some of those beautiful Onsen that you showed. Thank you so much for all of the detail and care that you put into this. I hope we enjoy our trip at least half as much as you seemed to. Lovely work on the video.
