So, this was the most beautiful place we've been to in Japan, we think. Nyuto Onsen, especially Tsurunoyu Onsen, was an experience like we've never had before, and it's something we'll remember for the rest of our lives. Go visit Akita if you have the chance. It'll blow you away.

I have watched a lot of onsen trip videos. This...this is next level stuff. The intimacy and detail shared is amazing and really enamors a person to want to go to the area and experience the onsen serenity. Seriously, JNTO really needs to get in touch with you stat.

The video with the Halloween Starbucks drinks was bad camera and sound and you two complaining about being old. It was delightful regardless of the issues. Now you give us this beautifully shot, informative, playful, etc. video and it was also delightful. The common denominator is you two - you make the videos fun and enjoyable with your humor and knowledge while rolling with the punches. Honestly, I thought I would have to behave very seriously at an onsen but you two made this fun, like bar hopping but with semi-nudity, relaxing, and drinking milk. Autumn is my favorite season and this just looked like heaven to me. I am starting to love Simon's OH HELLO whenever he sees a dog and the dog sees him too. That needs to be a ringtone or something. And I will now have Hips Don't Lie stuck in my head for a while with 'Shakira Shakira' replaced with 'Akita Akita'. THANKS, MARTINA.

Rewatching this now, as my partner and I are literally sitting on the shinkansen from Akita to Tazawako station, about to indulge in the same adventure! It's our 10 year anniversary of being together, and we decided to come to Japan for the first time for it (3.5 weeks, from Melbourne, we've wanted to come since we were little kids watching anime in the 90's 😍) and to celebrate the actual anniversary, do the Akita nyutou onsen hopping with a stay in the Taenoyu ryokan! So excited and thanks again guys for an awesome video and introducing this magical onsen paradise to us 😊

this was so beautiful, by the end of it I had tears in my eyes. In Portuguese there is a word for what I felt: "Saudade", a deep feeling of nostalgia mixed with melancholy, This video took me back to my trip to Japan and all the onsens I visited alone by myself. the feeling is sad but also full of happiness and gratefulness that I was able to experience that. In that sense your videos are the only ones that touch me like that time after time, so thank you for that!

Finally found time to sit and comment on this amazing video! I was so excited for this video cause I adore Bath culture in Japan. The idea of soaking to relax not to wash is just right up my alley. Seeing these beautiful onsen, in Autumn, which probably haven't changed drastically over the years they have been running gives me this warm feeling, especially looking at the ones that still have the wooden ceilings! Ah! This must of been a magical relaxing time, and thank you so much for sharing it with us so that in future we your subscribers can get to feel it too! I am already keeping a list of things to do in Japan on my next trip that you guys make videos on cause if Simon and Martina can do it; most likely I can too!

Thank you for you wonderful video!! I had been researching mixed bathing onsen for our honeymoon for quite a while and was really glad that I stumbled across your video. Inspired by it my husband and I actually went to visit the Nyūtō Onsen area in Akita last October. It was absolutely amazing :) We stayed for three nights at Kuroyu Onsen, which I can highly recommend! The staff at the Ryokan was very friendly and the food was awesome. The first day we soaked in our own Rhyokan's onsen, the second day we did onsen hopping and the third day we went hiking. On the way to the top of Mt. Nyūtō there is aktually a small onsen in the woods which you can use for free :) It does not get any more scenic than this! If anyone happens to visit Tsurunoyu Onsen, have an onsen tamago (onsen egg) there. They are quite different than other onsen eggs and were the most delicious eggs I have ever tasted in my life! Last but not least: Apart from bringing some snacks in case you get hungry late at night, I would recommend bringing enough cash, because the next ATM is a 45 minute ride away. Having written this, I wanna go there again! :)
