High power has obvious effect on penetrating obstacles.AKK’s attempts at new products are amazing.

I have the 4w version of this vtx, granted it's for my DJI F550 hextacopter, and I don't do long range with it, well not like the guys that specifically fly "long range". I just wanted a reliable signal, fuzz or no fuzz, to be able to bring that big bitch home or land it in case of an issue. So far been happy with it.

What is a good antenna setup for analog? Can you describe type and supplies?

Range is heavily influenced by antennas. Ground station would be the peak I guess. More output power mainly affects the penetration which is great don't get me wrong, but Maybe invest in some high gain antennas...

Does anyone know when the alpha 16 16w vtx will be for sale? I saw it on the website and then I tried to buy a few days ago and it was taken down.

Wesley Varty got 100 km on a 2.5W reaper (with using all the right antenna gear). He had to use the most thought out setup, it took multiple people to create the longest range wing I've ever seen....and you need more range than that? What's your plan with 10W go out 200km? And with what battery?

My experience with this VTX is that it has super bandy video in sync with throttle, I have a vid on my channel and the latter half is just flight footage DVR. Quite disappointed tbh I was hype to try it out. Also had to stick it outside my 7" 😐
@hoagietime13 ай бұрын
Banding is esc noise, try a better cap on the esc, LC filter for the vtx power supply or those ferrite donut filters, lastly a common ground or just pulling the power straight from the battery, not thought the fc
@dingbatfpv3 ай бұрын
@@hoagietime1 Mate I tried everything, I mention it all in the video, but I had a 1500uf cap (usually have a 1k), inductor on the power supply to the VTX which AKK suggested, common ground for cam and VTX but not possible to common the positive. I even swapped the props because my bi blades gave slight noise at certain throttle positions. Still noisy as anything. Put a Unify on the exact same pads and it was crystal clear. The VTX needs 2x 12v-28v inputs, the only way to deliver this on my FC is on the VBAT pads. Also if the VTX needs an inductor it should be on the board imo

We can't be happy that such powerful transmitters are being created. For a hobbyist, 1W is more than enough.

I have the radiomaster boxer and I set it at 250hz in 1w and it’s barely went to 1km as soon as I turned around and the dpm was -99 and the limit was -108
@StewardsNotes3 ай бұрын
@@salembamokierr5367 I mean, that's pretty incredible, every -3db doubles your range. Based on what you've said, you could go as far as 8km. If you change the packet rate, I think the sensitivity goes down to -121db, which is further then you'll ever need to go.

10 watt VTX's are not made for hobbyists, most of them probably end up in Ukraine.
AKK vtxs have always looked terrible compared to rush or tbs, needs lc filter, and lots of distance between esc and the vtx to get rid of that banding. This vtx was made for war, not hobbyists

I’m not sure why they aren’t using digital more for their quads. It’s a far more robust link and will go 10s of kilometres more easily. It’s harder to jam too. Cost isn’t really a factor anymore either, WS is cheap as chips.

@@Lukas-yi8my no that’s exactly why they use it. Digital goes much further and has more penetration. It’s less likely to be jammed too.
