Just listening to the aurelia theme releases the happy chemicals in my brain.

I believe that is called dopamine. It is so crazy to think that that one chemical alters the electrical flow through our brains resulting in the emotional state we call happy. Complex life is really a marvel of engineering.

Amazing! I've been following the series since the beginning. It's very pleasant to see someone skillfully build such an interesting world. I have always imagined that this is some kind of city on Mars, a few hundred years from now.

I would probably spend hours looking at those rotating power plants. Very creative!
@Xondar112233443 жыл бұрын
Those vertical solar plants look like they're from Evangelion 2.22. The towers are mirrors and they focus sunlight onto the central part. They might even be molten salt solar arrays. You can see them in the KZbin video "Evangelion 2.22 - TOKYO-III Wakes up," which is the part of the movie that uses a great track from The Man Who Stole the Sun OST.

Great job on the rotating solar power plants! I am happy to see you took the time to make the rotation match the environment. My guess is that solar panels such as these are quite good at absorbing sunlight early and late in the day, when the sun is low. The white circles on the bottom might act as mirrors, redirecting vertical light during the middle of the day into the panels.
@Xondar112233443 жыл бұрын
It's the other way around! Those solar plants are from Evangelion 2.22, and you can see them in operation in that movie. The mirrors themselves are also capable of limited vertical and horizontal movement, and they reflect sunlight into the bottom central parts.

In Brooklyn's Red Hook neighborhood there is a canal that has tons of parked barges, so yours doesn't look inaccurate, per se. Mostly just floating storage for industry etc. and famously polluted waters. Decent bbq (for Brooklyn) down around there.

Where is this rotating solar power concept from? It looks incredible. It seems to make sense at least though googling around for it only gives me more typical solar power types (e.g. updraft or those concentrated solar heat plants.) also steam workshop seems to be down so I can't look for them there either right now. EDIT: Found the workshop asset. Turns out that the reason I couldn't find this concept anywhere is that it's a specific background detail from Neon Genesis Evangelion that you'd probably have to deduce are solar thermal collectors, but otherwise, I don't remember them being mentioned in the anime.

I think in Evangelion 2.0 its more directly shown that they act as mirrors of some sort that redirect sunlight down into the geofront.

great work! for the canal I would have imagined an industrial valve system for freight ships or a custom bridge that rises with the appropriate mod. for the angle on the quays I would also have put less buildings because they hide the leaning facade that existed and it is a shame because it was really good

Hey, there is a barge mod in the workshop that uses the ferry network to transport cargo from a place to another inside the city. Maybe you can use it to give life to the barges next to the new insdutrial area.
