Really amazing to see both Leatherface and ET making cameos here (and ET throwing phones at the player is hilarious)

I thought I was losing my mind. I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed two obvious characters. I don't know how they got away with that. But I imagine at the time copyrights weren't so strict.

@@docjay9378 --- I get the feeling that it was less a matter of tolerance and more a matter of ignorance. I don't think TCM/Tobe Hooper or Amblin Entertainment knew either character was in this game until well after it released and by then they might not have considered it worth pursuing, assuming they were even able to. I look at the huge number of Jaws ripoffs and I think only The Last Shark was blocked from release via lawsuit brought on by Universal.

that 70s/80s synthesizer music at the beginning of the level is sick!

The visuals look kind of cool. But man did that guy ever skip all the leg days.

He probably figured if he put enough muscle on up top, the legs would exercise themselves carrying the bulk around.

Wow. An Amiga game with simultaneous music and sound effects. That's a nice surprise.
@AL82RetrogamingLongplays11 күн бұрын
I think Jochen Hippel (who created the music for this game) came up with an implementation of Chris Huelsbeck's TFMX format for the Atari ST, which Chris backported to the Amiga. I don't know whether Hippel applied the same techniques for his own Amiga tracks to leverage additional software sound channels, or whether this is just savvy use of the 4 available hardware channels.

@ Very interesting. Thanks.

@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays- You can hear it muting an audio channel for the sound FX - the 7-channel routine was too CPU-intensive to be used in-game. Contrary to the post starting the thread, there were plenty of Amiga games with both music and sfx, those that made you choose were probably constrained time-wise in development.

Pixel art master Henk Nieborg's second game. He had to be 21 or 22 at the time. It's really interesting to watch his early style here. It's not as balanced (main char is a bit shoddy) as in his later games like Ambermoon or Lionheart, but his raw talent is already on display here.

Clear nods also to Toki in the intro animation, and to Rush'n'attack in the jungle level. There's a lot of "so near and yet so far" in this game.

I thought I've played , or at least seen (esp .on YT), majority of amiga games but here and there I get surprised. Never heard about or even seen this game. Nice graphic , looks like a good game. The way he is flexing when he is jumping is lol.

Another obvious inspiration is Shadow of the Beast: action taking place in a well, eyeballs as enemies, the appearance of sculptures standing near the gate, etc.
