Sometimes dis stories ar just what dey ar, folklore. Oranyan called his brothers to join him too embark on a journey of vengeance. Mid way dey disagreed and dey all went their separate ways. Oranyan vowed to continue on his own, only to meet a Tapas friend who told him to stay with him. D same Oranyan who allegedly viewed to embark on a journey of vengeance, even severed path with his brothers, now decided to stay with his friend to d extent dat he married and had children. Very unfocused man. Later he decided to go back home( finally 4getin his original plan). Again he got to Oko where he left his 2 children again. D story just gets more & more unrealistic.

Most of his narration is to substantiate why Alaafin is superior to Oooni. Of course, being an Alaafin Prince, he did not want to publicly spite the current Oooni. When he asked Dele to put the Adimuola matter to the side, all he tried to avoid was professing the claim that the first Ooni was a son of a slave. That's why he couldn't say anything further when Dele asked who Oranyan & his siblings left to take care of home while sojourning to the north. He essentially meant that Oranyan & his sibling left a slave who later became the Oba (the first Ooni). *Nigerian history entirety is damaged & distorted. We have wasted too much time learning about people like Mongo Park, the Ajayi Crowder translation of the Bible etc, when more effort should have been put into getting our real history right. *Nobody really knows what's true. *I'm unsure if anyone paid attention when he mentioned the Oba of Benin as one of Oranyan's sibling after he had earlier said Oranyan himself was the father of Eweka. *If Alaafin is so much more legitimate than the Ooni, then how come the latter was able to confer the Awise Awo Agbaye title on Wande Abimbola, who is a bonafide son of Oyo? *It's painful that a slew of people only know bits & pieces of our history. *He never answered (Dele) the convoluted statement that attributed lesbianism to Olowu, a sister of Oranyan. *One thing I'm personally happy about is that the Ooni (Olubuse) & Alaafin (Olayiwola) who almost became each other's worst enemies are gone. The current Ooni's magnanimity in making sure that there was no continuity of enemity between him & Alaafin was a huge positive, though I personally believe that Oba Olubuse looked down on Oba Olayiwole, but I won't emphasize that.

There wasn't anything like Alaafin (Lord of the palace or Lord of Ajasa), The title used to be Oloyo before it suddenly changed to Alaafin. And Oranmiyan was never an Oloyo or Alaafin, meaning he was neither a king in Binin nor in Oyo which they claim he founded. The only place he ruled as a crowned king was Ile Ife. How do you now refer to someone only became a crowned king in his father's kingdom an Alaafin Oyo? It only tells you he was never a King in Oyo but an Ife prince in Oyo. "An Ife prince is a King in Oyo" is what you're ignorantly describing Oranmiyan as.

Òrúnmìlà nìkan ni òpìtàn Ifẹ̀, a kéré fi inú ṣe ọgbọ́n òpìtàn Ifẹ. Any Yorùbá story that couldn't be substantiated with Odù Ifá is a complete hearsay or fallacy. Knowledge of Ifá is required before anybody could speak on behalf of YORÙBÁ. Everything about Yorùbá is enshrined in the 256 primary Odù, the source of Yorùbá Cosmology.

This is a clear example of the unfortunate Yoruba historical legacy. Lack of ancient documentation is the bane of our historical facts. The prince said something critical that burned his own biases. Everyone tries to recreate a history that's convenient for them. Here is my rebuttal, especially about the Yoruba throne supremacy. All accounts, including his own, confirm that they all emanated and spread out from Ile-Ife, even Oduduwa whether he was born or he migrated, had his establishment in Ile-Ife, so it really doesn't matter where they all settled and became Alaafin afterwards, even he confirmed that Oranyan was enthroned first in Ile-Ife, and eventually returned to Ile-Ife. So, by any untainted logic, Ile-Ife remains the Yoruba homestead, headquarters, and original throne. End of story. I'm not from Ile-Ife, but l dislike propaganda. When the British invaded the area, at that time, they certainly were savvy with anthropology and historical findings, all records have it that they recognized the Yoruba headship as the Ooni of Ile-Ife and no one else, until indigenous politics took over. MKO, NPN, and Late Oba Adeyemi and their animosity against UPN, Awolowo, and late Olubuse, are all in the past now, can we please allow history to return to its purity?

Ogun was the father of Oranmiyan,no argument about it. Oyo was far from Ife, they have no idea about the ancient history of Ufe. Baba is telling us what we were told in the pry school.
