✅Awesome device. These Aladdin automatic Air vents are great value on Amazon UK at £10 for a twin pack amzn.to/2iD8oFI I have fitted over 100 of these automatic ORIGINAL Aladdin autovents and they have worked every time with no leaks and they have a 3 year guarantee. Great for problem radiators just fit and forget. Hope this helps Cheers Gerry👍👍

These are amazing. Two problem radiators needed bled every week or two watched this bought a few fitted them and they have worked brilliant. Thank you.

That indicates a problem in your system, as in air getting sucked in. I'd recommend you looking into getting the root cause fixed, otherwise you could have problems caused by corrosion from all the oxygen getting into the system.

These Aladdin valves are really good, fitted loads also never an issue.

We had 3 installed about 5 years ago. Now one of the radiators seems to get cold in the corner, I presume it needs replacing? But after watching the video I may have to try my DIY skills hehe.

We have some older radiators that have a valve the size of a nut and bolt, both use an Allen key. Is there an Aladdin autovent available for these?
@carot20034 жыл бұрын
A few years ago I replaced most of my rads with these. They do not work for me, I have to use the key to allow the air out as mine do not automatically purge!! The key is a horrible U shaped piece of stiff wire, not nice to use. I wish I had never changed them, I will be changing back to the old style. I hope these work better for you than me..
@GerrysDiy4 жыл бұрын
Hi carot2003. Sorry that they are not working g for you. I think they have a 5 year guarantee so you might give them a shout. I have used lots of them without issue. I have a combination of underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs with all the rads fitted with Aladdin vents for about 5 years now. and no issues. Have fitted lots of them in my line of work too. If your system is prone to sludging it might be affecting the valves. Thanks for taking the time to comment Cheers Gerry 👍

Nice vid Mr, like these. I'm not a plumber or boiler guy but this looks simple enough cheers. Are there different types for different radiators etc

I'm curious if this would work on a DIY aquarium canister filter to remove the air.

Can't you just fit an air vent pipe ?

Thanks for your great video! Could you do another one that demonstrates how to install a Micro Aladdin on an older model radiator? Also... I've heard that you can get improved performance by putting the Aladdin at the correct end of the radiator - can you recommend which end? Thanks!

Great video Gerry. Not to be pedantic or anything but you did say they're about $7.50 which is about €6.50 and on Amazon UK they are £7.20 so maybe don't give prices. But having said all that I'll be installing them in the house and keep up the good work I'll be recommending your channel. Mick

Hi Mick. They do work really well and I have installed them in my own house and beyond. Thanks for the advice about the prices. Cheers Gerry

Should only need one in one radiator to auto vent the whole system.
@gamwam4 жыл бұрын
I’ve just installed one of these, unfortunately it did nothing and I had to bleed the radiator using the “u” - the only time it seems to work is when I unscrew the cartridge slightly with the “u” key and leave it partially open, then it slowly bleeds the air from the radiator, has anyone else found that they seem to not work if you screw them up tight?

Good job but if you have a system leak on an open vented system this could hide the fact and cause electrolyte corrosion were as a sealed system will warn you via gauge,

Hi Gerry. I have a question for You. How it's work? Everything is ok? Is water flowing when the heater is venting?

It’s basically a fibre washer that expands and seals when wet contracts when it’s dry Been around for moons
@theoldtyke.40856 жыл бұрын
I bought a set of similar off QVC over 10 years ago & just had to replace it this week - my own fault for over tightening with the pliers!. Still, it gave me a chance to see how the magic worked, this had a series of around half a dozen small fibre washers on a central spindle. I suppose they used many small washers to give redundancy - when the first one fails, the second would, hopefully, come into play.
@simonharding15725 жыл бұрын
had them and installed them on a few rads (4 i think) they stopped bleeding (auto) ended up taking them off and replacing with old - good idea but my experience is not as good as yours
@millomweb5 жыл бұрын
The mistake is taking out the existing vet - put the auto vent at the other end of the rad !
@Mrcatcherye5 жыл бұрын
auto air vents are notorious for leaking due to constant movement and heat and cooling expansion.

I am always sceptical about these type of add on devices. If this was a solution to this problem why hasn't the radiator manufactures come up with this?
@GerrysDiy6 жыл бұрын
Hi golden Child. The standard radiator bleed screw works really well and are cheap to install. These automatic versions work really well too but are automatic. I have fitted lots of these over the years and have them in my own house too. It is another point of potential failure for sure but I have yet to see one fail. Thanks for the comment. Cheers Gerry
@millomweb5 жыл бұрын
Manual bleed valves are a solution to the problem - that's what rad manufacturers supply.
@sinacedia Жыл бұрын
it is not magic, it is simple, air is smaller than water, it's just a filter for very small things , it lets the tiny air out but keeps the big water in... and I writing a comment on a 5 year old post.

Absolutely stupid device,if you have a head tank open vent system which I doubt nowadays it could be useful,but most people have sealed systems that require in most domestic cases to be manually filled,if a novice fitted this air vent would self vent and the boiler would not be re pressured.Even if a installer fitted this after installation the customer might be left with a boiler not filled to the correct pressure and unaware why .I strongly advise against this nonsense.Heating engineer with 35 years experience
@johnwhitson59232 жыл бұрын
Spot on Anton as the pressure in the system would drop down below 1 bar and the boiler would not work . The video never mentioned that so I assume the system that he is working on is automatically refilled from a holding tank .
