nice work Billy. There is just something special about pens, don't know what it is, but even a simple one is always satisfying to make
@TheMessyStudio2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, Ruben! Yes, they can be quite satisfying. But monotonous if you do them all the time. At least for me. Maybe because I've turned so many over the years.

What size washers did you use as bushings? Love the look of the modified slimline!!
@TheMessyStudioМинут бұрын
I believe one is 3/8" and the other is 1/2". Thank you!

Great video Billy. I have never seen a modified Slimline done that way before. I stopped using Polyester Resin years ago because of the bad chipping no matter how gently I turned it. Great video my friend and one I'm keeping for when I give this a go. Take care Billy. Cheers, Huw PS What were the outside diameters of the washers you used please?
@TheMessyStudio2 жыл бұрын
PR can be tricky for sure, Huw. This was even more so... probably because of how old it was. The washers are 12 & 14 mm in diameter.
@WoodenItBeNice2 жыл бұрын
@@TheMessyStudio Thanks Billy. I tired one a while ago that was probably 4 years old. It was un-turnable.

I use a Zebra Z grip click pen parts to turn a wood pen. Total cost to make a turned pen using Zebra parts is less than $3. Have you tried this method?
@TheMessyStudioАй бұрын
I have not. I may look into that.

Always cannot understand when people have a lathe and say they are wood turning when in fact they are “scraping”.😩
@TheMessyStudio11 ай бұрын
If you've watched many of my turning videos, you've seen me "cut". This is resin. Resin likes scrapers. Sometimes it doesn't mind the skew. Just depends on the resin. Do you have a lathe? I'd be happy to watch some of your "turning"!
