I've only been catching some trailer clips of the new Frazier and I'm not feeling it. Although not canned, the audience seems just that, the slick comedic lines are just not there, it all seems so desperate. It's crazy seeing our English man Nicolas Lyndhurst in the show. He is a legend here in England and was one of the main characters in arguably the biggest comedy series in British history. Good to see he's giving it a go in the US. I just don't think I can bring myself to sit through the entire new series. I believe I'll be sadly let down. Frazier should have been left alone. The original series was immense and is comedy gold.

It takes a few episodes to find it's feet but this series has been genuinely hilarious and heartwarming
@FablestoneSeries7 ай бұрын
As I understand it the original Frasier series had one of the highest British followings of any American show. (Over here the most popular British shows in America are The Office, or Downton Abbey, or Doctor Who). Part of that may have been attributed to the character of Daphne. So it doesn't surprise me at all that they wanted to cash in on that market again. So likely the decision was made to add a well known British Comedian into the mix, and one American audiences might not recognize. I myself am Canadian and we get plenty of British programming over here. I adore British television. Probably watch more British television than I do American. I'm addicted to WILTY. (they made an American version of WILTY and it was god awful)
@NazSBG7 ай бұрын
@@FablestoneSeries what's WILTY? Glad you like our TV progs. If you enjoy our comedy I highly recommend watching Only Fools & Horses. The London slang might take you some getting use to but it is a superb comedy series and arguably our most successful ever. The Blackadder series 2-4, forget series 1, it's not great) is comedy gold. I never use to like American comedies. I struggled with the humour. But as I got older I learned to appreciate it. My favourites are Cheers (oh my, what a show!!!), Frazier, Everybody Loves Raymond and for the down right rude and constant put downs of each other ' Married with Children' was hilarious. Al Bundy was some character! 🤣
@FablestoneSeries7 ай бұрын
@@NazSBG WILTY, stands for Would I Lie to You. Britain has the best game shows on the planet, with the only possible exception maybe being Japan which has the most ludicrous game shows. The American version of WILTY was so disappointing. It was tragic.
@NazSBG7 ай бұрын
@@FablestoneSeries if you like your panel (game) shows them we have a comedy panel show called 'Mock the Week' which is stand up comics giving their take on the weeks news. And there's 'Have I got news for you' which has been going for years. Satirical humour at it's best.

I think he and the nephew are the most irritating parts of the show. I loved Cheers and Frasier before. This one is suffering from a few actors who aren't fun to watch and mediocre writing. Sadly, I stopped watching after giving it a full 6 and a half episodes. Maybe it'll get some tweaking to be better if it's not taken off the air before it can improve.

I think you made a mistake with the word 'Iconic' and should have been 'Moronic'. What is worse is the fact, so many people truly believe this return of Frasier is actually funny. The heavy dubbed laughter turns it into a scene from a horror film.

As a huge Frasier fan it pains me to admit the reboot is lacking in so much. Leaving the try hards aside, this was never gonna work without at least some of the orginal cast, there are agendas being pushed in there too, although burried in the script they are still obvious and unnecessary. Lyndhurst is a complete asshat in it and the majority of supporting cast are weak and written poorly. Also where are all the white women? They do still exist, i married one 😂
