What’s so heartbreaking about Gale and Dewey’s scene where they first see each other is knowing David and Courtney had divorced in real life and wondering how close to home that scene hit. 💔

i think, in the script, tara and amber were supposed to be girlfriends which would've explained ambers protective behavior at the start. and if the writers had kept this relationship, it would've further proved the "never trust the love interest" idea

You're right, they were dating in the original script. I think I ended up hearing one of the original lines spoken by Jenna, Tara's actor. It was her saying "You were a shitty girlfriend" which might have originally in the place of "I still prefer The Babaduke". But I could very much be wrong.

they took the girlfriends idea out of the script, mainly because jenna was still a minor during the filming process, so they weren’t able to film any scenes with mikey because she’s 23.

I was the only one out of the theater to react. I recently turned 17 two months ago and enjoyed my first time going to see a Rated R film. I had watched all the scream movies since last year. And I was the only one that told that bitch to burn and die. I literally ugly cried from that scene. Loved this movie.

When Amber revealed herself as the killer it shocked the hell out of me. Mainly with how chill and nonchalant she was when she revealed it to everyone as well as how cold hearted she was when she shot Liv. Plus if I remember correctly she’s the only one in the franchise who revealed herself as the killer by pulling out a gun and immediately shooting someone. I think a lot of them in the past either did it by taking their ghostface mask off or by acting insane or using a knife to stab someone or hold someone at gun point without pulling the trigger immediately. However the way Amber was just so chill by saying “I know” while pulling a gun out and shooting Liv legit made me gasp while I was watching this in the theater 🤷‍♂️

Drew Barrymore is the voice of the principal over the intercom in the beginning outside the high school. 2. During the party scene when they say for Wes the voices of the actors who play Principle Himbry (scream 1), randy, Kirby, Stu, Hoss (cop from scream 4) are heard along with the party goers. 3. Matthew Lillard is the one in the metal ghost face mask in the “Stab 8” video on KZbin that Richie was watching and he is the guy who said the line “someone’s goofy ass dad is kicking us out.” 4. They confirmed Kirby is alive because when Richie is watching the video on KZbin in the corner you can see a video that says interview with Woodsboro Survivor Kirby!!!! 5. This movie was an emotional Rollercoaster ride for me to say the least. I’ve been invested in this franchise since I was like 8 in 1996 so the buildup for me has been in real time. To take out Dewey after 26 years had me shook. I’m a horror buff and this is the first time a horror movie had me choked up. But I guess they really had to shake things up for the 5th go around. I’m excited for what’s next with the franchise. THE SAGA CONTINUES…..

Facts this is the only scream movie that makes me tear up and knowing that David and Courtney got divorced and have kids with each other in real life makes it that much more real. Apparently there was a version of their scene together that got really emotional and they didn't want to use it out of respect for them because it was just too personal of a moment between them.

They met in the first movie and we basically see their relationship start and how it ended. Their child gets to see how their parents met and how they are today in a movie franchise.

My storyline for Scream 6 It is titled Scream: Snow Angel set on winter during snow and Gail decides to invite the survivors throughout the franchise (Kirby, Samantha, Tara, The Twins) her purpose is to interview them so they arrive at the hotel and Sidney has a bigger role in this one since she brings Mark and her kids. But only Mindy (girl twin) makes it to the hotel and says her brother is away for college as an excuse for why he hasn't came. The killers turn to be Kirby and Mindy as Kirbys motive is to avenge Dewey (who turns to be her dad) because you know Dewey can't die with no consquences. As for Mindys motive is to taunt Sam for her family being responsible for the murder of her beloved uncle Randy. Soon Mindys twin unexpectedly appears she shoots herself for being ashamed he saw her in this situation. Kirbys mainly targetting Gail after breaking Dewey's heart for a long time and might just spare Sidney leaving her our sole survivor. Hotel staff/intro kill dream cast: Imogen Poots, Margot Robbie, Octavia Spencer, Madeline Petsch (writing skills goals 😉)

Meaning, Mindy's the clearest Randy, but they all had meta commentary moments. He loved that he left that legacy in the films. I absolutely love how ghostfaces voice actor not only returns another 11 years later to do scream 5. But also seems like he gets so much more lines in this. The intro were we get to hear him act way more casual is so cool. It’s interesting for me as I have a passion for voice acting and could tell it was him immediately when I watched this in the theatre and was like “oh god he’s acting nice! Don’t fall for it!” XD

I was so excited to watch your reaction to this. Watching Judy rush home to Wes was heartbreaking, you could tell that they had a loving relationship. The most surprising part of her kill was that it was out in the open in broad daylight. When Dewy died, I was so shocked at the violence and I physically couldn't stop the sobs from coming out. When Dewy shot ghostface and Richie took a sigh of relief, it wasn't because ghostface was shot (like I originally thought) it was because he knew Dewy shot them in the vest. I cried again when Gale called Dewy her bestfriend. I was so nervous about this movie because the Scream movies are my favorite, but they did a really good job!

She didn't look inside the house to make sure it was empty & safe & Not her son leaving it open? I mean if the wind blew it open that still meant it wasn't shut good... so if she or her son did that, they didn't lock it when they came in? LOL And then, for the cracked front door her son also assumes the open door is just fine? They both just casually close it & lock it? Nah... only a person with a door that had a broken lock & got blown open by every little gust of wind would be ok with that!! But the sheriff who went through the events of a killing spree as a deputy & is now a sheriff with a teen to protect... And of course if she's going to pick up sushi in her cute jogging outfit, she obviously can't carry a gun? Even though there is a killer on the loose... again??

🩸🔪⚰️I GAGGED, I GAGGED, I GAGGGEEDDD. This movie really took the Scream franchise into a more twisted and dark zone that I really loved. Something about the films dark contrast, killings, plot, and soundtrack really made the movie less whodunit and more crazy serial killer with jarring and real consequences. CHARACTERS👩‍💼: Let's get into it! Seeing the original 3 reunite was iconic! I obviously knew that one of them would HAVE to die ofc since it wouldn't be realistic to have them keep surviving every movie. The new characters I honestly deeply invested in, especially the Samanta-Tara sister relationship and ofc Mindyyy. She's that girllll. KILLINGS 🔪: As Dewey said in the movie, "This one just feels different," HELL YEAH. These Ghostface were pulling out all of the stops and not just stabbing one time but multiple times even in BROAD DAYLIGHT. Talk about not giving a fuck 😂. DEWEYS DEATH: I cried my ass off, and I still get chills even after seeing it 3 times! Dewey's death was beautifully encapsulated, and it was honorable but still do freaking sad. I bawled when Gale ran up to the hospital only to see a black body bag. You could tell they still had a connection, but now they'll never be able to communicate it 😔. MOVIE RANKINGS: For me, from best to worst, it's: 4,5,1,2,3. Great reaction, as always, Alanda ❤. You always have me cracking up! 😭 Superrrrr excited for Scream 6 next year!

I love Dewey's "Never trust the love interest" rule because in Dewey's experience the love interest was only the killer that one time in the original. The love interest was a red herring in Scream 2, and Sidney actually marries her love interest from Scream 3. The fact that it actually WAS the love interest this time was a good requel nod imo.

A requel doesn't act like sequels didn't happen or weren't important, just revisits plot points from earlier films. So Dewey is fully aware of what happened in 2 - 4 and that love interests weren't the killers.

My favorites are still Billy and Jill, but the killers in this movie are pretty high up there for me personally because I think they’re entertaining to watch. Something I'm glad they changed is the part where Samantha tells Gale that Dewey helped her and Gale says that she should've stopped him. Samantha says ''If you did, my sister would be dead''. Gale, in the script, coldly said ''I don't care''. I'm glad it was cut because I feel like Gale at this point in her life isnt so selfish about who should live or die and she cares about solving all the murders and saving all the people she can. If they kept the ''I don't care'' I feel like it would've felt like her pre-scream 2 self.

If you look in Dewey’s phone and when Richie is watching the stab movies you can see that Kirby from Scream 4 survived. Also Sydney is married to detective Kincaid from Scream 3, and this movie did so well critically and financially that they’re going to begin production on Scream 6 this summer. Oh and the actor who plays Chad is Cuba Gooding Jr son. Plus Tara is the first Scream movie opening to actually survive.

I took all three of my teens to see this in the cinema (ages 18, 16 and 15). Scream was the first horror movie I ever saw, and it was the first horror I ever showed them. We all bawled our eyes out in the cinema :( I've loved reliving this journey with you. Side note, so many people miss the reference to "Mark" - Sidney's husband - who was the detective (Patrick Dempsey) from Scream 3!

Awesome movie. The new characters were so great. I loved Mindy & Chad. Sam and Tara were great too. I'd be here for Mindy being the main character in the next one. Judy's death scene was the saddest moment of the movie for me. I can only imagine the anxiety that was running through her mind as she raced to get home to her baby. And Wes seemed like such a sweet kid too :( I don't think we'll see Sydney and Gale ever again and I'm fine with it. I think the new cast is strong enough to carry the franchise moving forward

Yes, there will be a Scream 6. They start filming this summer. Neve Campbell expressed interest in returning only if she approves of the script because just like us she’s passionate about Sidney and doesn’t want her to die. There’s a nod to Gale’s Scream 3 bangs during her Morning show bit right before Dewey turned it off to talk to Sam and Richie, “…bangs again, stage an intervention.” You can also see Tatum’s ashes in Dewey’s place. The KZbinrs that are critiquing Stab 8 are real life KZbinrs, Deat Meat who are known for tallying the kill count on horror movies (I recommend watching their channel). I recommend watching Once Upon A Time In Hollywood if you haven’t already. It’s pretty good.

Your reactions were so on point during Dewey's segment! When Sam told Gale "if he hadn't helped, my sisteer would be dead" somebody in my theatre was like "B*TCH SO!!" My one complaint about the movie is that they telegraphed Richie too easily. People who seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (I haven't seen it) mentioned them telegraphing Amber but within the movie, Richie became too obvious during Dewey's attack. I can see sam not helping to still stay with Tara and her injuries, but Richie legit just watched the whole thing while lying on the floor with a cut to the arm. He at least should've went to Sam and Tara to make it seem like chose a side, but no he just laid there.

i personally enjoyed this movie a lot. amber’s reveal is definitely one of my favorite reveals of the franchise. was sad about dewey but it had to be done. one of my favorite little easter eggs of the movie was looking at Richie’s computer screen when he’s watching videos about stab 8 and seeing that kirby survived the events of scream 4. i can’t wait for scream VI!

Imo the kills weren’t that brutal. Scream 4 had much more violent kills and gore compared to this movie. The only gore was the knife in the throat. Like Tara’s attack was brutal but she didn’t die. Scream 4 had Olivia’s death which oof she got fucked up she was used like a paint brush to decorate that room with blood and that cop with the stab to the frontal lobe bleeding from his head.

I hope when u watch this movie in theaters you catch all the Easter eggs. 1. Sydney is married to Mark Kincaid from Scream 3. 2. Dewey had Tatum's ashes in his trailer. 3. Wes Hicks character name was a nod to Wes Craven 4. As Richie is catching up on the stab movies, there is youtube suggested channel interview with Woodsboro survivor "Kirby Reed" from Scream 4 confirming she lived. 5. In the same scene where Ritchie is catching up on the stab movies.There is also a suggested KZbin channel reference asking the question is the real Stu Macher alive from Scream 1. 6. The principal voice over the loud speaker at the high school is Drew Barrymore who played Casy Becker in Scream 1. 6. Amber catching on fire was a nod to A nightmare on elm Street when Freddy Krueger caught on fire. 7. Sam Caparenter's name is a nod to John Carparenter who directed Halloween 8. A Scream 6 has been confirmed! I will say Tara makes a much better final girl the Sam, but I'm not sure if that is due to script writing or performance. I do think Sam's overall character is honestly forgetful when comparing to new cast hence the reason why sooo many other new characters shined. (ie Mindy, Tara, Wes). The foreshadowing of could Sam be a killer in future installments is too on the nose. Seeing as though both her father and grandmother were Ghostface respectively.

I agree lol Both sisters surviving means one will have to go at the end and if we go by Scream's direction, it's not looking good for Sam's character. I think she's about to snap. First, hallucinating(?) or seeing images of her serial killer father is not a good premonition. Second, the way she killed Ritchie is menacing. It's not really important that they follow the original rules of not killing the main character because as long as Sidney is alive, she is THE main character and it looks like they're not going to kill her.

@@ZukoHalliwell Not to mention it would ruin the idea present here that she’s not like Billy, as well as the ending of her using that side of her for good. The most I’d want to see is the potential negatives of her thinking that killing was justified

Like maybe she starts to fall into the subconscious mindset of “kill Ghostface” and that causes her to start to spiral by targeting people who are merely suspects and that she doesn’t know is the killer for sure.

I loved this movie. I legitimately cried in the theater when they killed Dewey. They announced a new Scream movie to start filming this summer. I can't wait.

Mindy and Tara were my favourites of the new cast. I mean, Mindy is hilarious and Tara survived brutal murder attempts multiple times - like, I got final girl energy more from her than Sam, though Sam's snap attack on Ritchie was brilliant. Dewey's death broke me, but I get it. One of them had to die. His character was living a little on the rough side, lost without Gale, then doing the right thing as always and trying to protect others, even sacrificing himself trying to end it. It was bittersweet that his last call was Gale and it was a (good) punch in the gut that Amber (as Ghostface) said "it's an honour" when she killed him because he really was the unlikely hero we all needed.

While I was devastated by the death of Dewey, I was pleasantly surprised that the minorities are the ones that survived aside from Sydney and Gale. They were in a bad way before the end of the movie from them being attacked but they were all still breathing. Also the actor playing one of the twins is Cuba Gooding Jr's son.

Dewy's death was done so well imo. It broke me but it gave me hope that all the new characters and the ogs would live. He managed to save Tara, unlike his sister, and sacrificed himself, knowing he had lived and done all he wanted to.

Dewey's death hit me so hard. Know what would have been totally awesome? If he and Gale had actually stayed together, and he got some fucking consistent happiness before he died! He deserved that much! T_T As always, your commentary had me cracking up! Your reactions to the Scream franchise are definitely the best!
