Never thought she was a poser. She was a pawn of the record industry who after her contract expired became true to herself. her lyric's on Jagged Little Pill where great.

Wow!!!!! I have heard the orginial of this song and it blows me away that she performed it again. A little different from the fast tempo to the slower tempo but I give Alanis props for still sharing and embracing her earlier works. Not many Americans know about these earlier years because it wasn't released in the US. Go ahead girl! Love all your music I'm a die hard fan.

I like both versions, the one she sang in 1991 and this remake in her own style...Some people here are fighting over this song...But everyone should remember, her career gotten better over the years.....I will have to say, if Alanis had chosen to still do songs like Too Hot and others like it, there would never have been a JLP era, so everything happens for a reason

Alanis loved this song and her performance of it at the time, living her dream as a teenage pop star, then.

Hahaha, this is cool. I'm glad she's not afraid to dig some of her bubblegum past up and be a little tongue in cheek about it, but still showing her talents. In the 90s when she made it really huge I was a bit skeptical about her new "dark" image but she eventually won me over after a few years. I think she has a great sense of humor. LMAO "Come on party people in the house."

Well, the reason why she became "jagged", is because she wanted to find her own voice. Most young artists go through fazes to branch out to see how far they can stretch. As we can tell by later albums, she has kind of returned to her 80s self. She is able to draw from her experiences and because of it, we have what she is today.
@ShampooCell17 жыл бұрын

I find it hard to really compare the two versions cause really, the original was done at not only a very different time, but also a different time in her carreer where she was still trying to find her footing. Jagged Little Pill was her breakthrough album and this was like 3 years before that.

Alanis (Like I think you will read this, not) but, this is exactly why I think your one of the best performers alive today. The original of this song is or was, well just awful. You took it and made so much fun from it. Your my one "get out of jail free". In relationships, both parties have that one that if the oppurtunity arose, which both know it never will, you can fool around with no reprocussions. Well, your mine, and probably always will be. Thanks, your "Too Hot"..... LOL

I believe she wanted to give credit to it.. it was one of her first hits.. and it was a hit.. if only in Canada. 'Deserves no introduction.. ' literally means that she felt she didn't need to introduce the song.. as the song itself was already enough for you to get it.

Not a bad transition from up beat pop song to her depressed "woe is me" style she had for a time. How cool would it have been to see her completely wig out 1991 style, choreographed dance and all?

...the fact that she perfomed this song here (which was in what 2002?) shows that she is ackknowledging that point in her carrer...and besides it sounds better this style than that horrible fake synthed up early 90's version.

kisscatastrophe hi :) I’m not saying she is embarrassed or not grateful for those albums I just think she gave some sort of an ironic twist to the song because she is not in that state as an artist anymore, she is much more honest and not one-dimensionalised.
