I lived two houses down from a game warden and I went on a couple of ride alongside with him until we had a falling out when he told me if I cut his lawn he wouldn't write me a ticket for shooting a grouse two minutes over closing time my dad was furious went down and almost cleaned his clock .but anyways he was always giving us fresh perch walleyes salmon venison etc.

That looked like one of those tape measures for measuring a person's chest/waist. It would start at 2 because you hook that post at the end of the tape back into the plastic housing which is probably around 2 inches so it accounts for that extra length when it's hooked around a person. That being said; what fisherman buys that kind of tape and isn't remotely aware is beyond me, I'm betting this is a known trick people have used to get out of trouble. "I had markings but the tape fell off" what a crock. Who would even figure out that it was their tape measure that way anyways? An honest person would insist they remeasure it with their tape and show it came up to the proper length, then they could figure it out together what was "wrong" with the tape. Too bad you can't prove intent, I'd stop that guy whenever I saw him on the lake from now on.

Here in Australia a friend of the family saw a net across the river. The poachers happened to return an parked their fwd in front of a 20ft cliff. They didn’t see old mate in the bushes and when they made there way down to the to river, old mate open the truck door put the hand brake of and a bit of heave ho and of the cliff she went! He then called the fisheries and wildlife to come and get them. They couldn’t run as it was their truck. They could hide a huge net with floats either🤣

I've never heard of a place where it's illegal to harvest kings under 28"... Most places in Alaska these days you're only able to harvest the Jacks (Less than 25"). A 28" king is an Adult fish.

Considering Fish & Wildlife check probably less than 0.1% of fishermen, and there are so many criminals caught, the fines for these loser, dirtbags should be confiscation of boats and gear and lengthy jail time, as the damage done to the wild population is immeasurable. Really sad how these guys are decimating fish populations at a time when they so need our help to survive.

I live in Petersburg and see this officer a few times a week, small town. He's a very reasonable and friendly man that's just doing his job. We've had a couple A- hole troopers over the years and i will say,,,we are lucky to have him.
