So happy to find these videos of yours on Alaska! This past spring I arranged a pretty cool road trip for my husband, his cousin and myself through Ireland, and your videos were incredibly helpful. Right down to what restaurants to make a point of going to vs what to avoid... Our trip would have been so different had I not sat and watched your videos. Oh, last month my son and I went to Vegas- again thanks to your videos, we had a clue of what to do/see there as well. Love your upbeat spirit and insightful tips!!

That's too bad you were disappointed by your dinner. My understanding (as far as the green beans and rice sides) is due to Covid shipping delays many Alaskan towns were dealing with grocery shortages as well. Whether or not that had anything to do with your sea food not being cooked to your satisfaction I don't know. Aside from that your adventures and your photography is incredible. I was enthralled. I've only done an Alaskan cruise so it is truly on my buckeet list to do a land visit.

Homer for the food and the famous homer spit. I'm gonna watch your denali one now, denali is my absolute favorite and I go once a year at least

ive lived in AK my whole life. grew up going to my family cabin out of Seward across the bay from Kenai Fjords NP, and like that you guys chose that tour & Tbird for your hike near town. i moved to Eagle River when i bought my house. Barbara falls is shorter and more impressive and well hidden. Some more hikes, South Fork Eagle River to Symphony Lakes, Eagle River Nature Center to Icicle Creek, and Girdwood Winner Creek. Also for food check out Glacier Brewhouse, 49th State, Bear Tooth, Pizza Man, Seven Glaciers. Also skeeters are only really bad in May & June in most places, they are better later in the summer, but snow is mostly gone and usually more rain.

Such a fun video! Based on what you saw of Anchorage, do you think it’s a safe place to do a land trip? A lot of people say to cruise to Alaska because it’s deserted. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
@AdventuresofMattandNat Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Courtney! Honestly, Anchorage is the least impressive part of Alaska, so I wouldn't plan to spend too much time there. As a whole though, Alaska is definitely worth road-tripping. We've never done an Alaskan cruise, but in general it's always hard to be tied to such a limiting schedule like cruises typically offer. That said, we do want to go on an Alaskan cruise someday! I think you have a better chance to see and do more throughout Alaska by land/road tripping though. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

I’m bing watching your videos now that I came across one. I’m a lifelong Alaskan. I live in Anchorage but you guys should definitely come back in more of the summer. If you come back you have to try Moose’s tooth pizza in anchorage! It’s a must, also there’s a restaurant in Seward called the salmon bake and there is a restaurant at windsong lodge in Seward that’s really good. Also Kenai fjords tours has a great boat tour too, that you get salmon and prime rib on. I like their’s cause there’s no assigned seating. Also, check out the sea life center in Seward. The fact that you saw a porcupine and caribou is actually really cool, I hardly ever see them. Also, check out the wildlife conservatory on the way to Seward. There’s so much. If you can next time check out the honer spit too! There’s so much!

@@AdventuresofMattandNat my wife’s brother moved to wasila last summer. We are going to visit for a week in June. Pretty much doing all the things you two did in you vlogs. I told you two to stick with it a couple years ago. And sure enough, look at your channel now. 35K. It just takes good content and time. You got both. 🎉🎉
