That is a beautiful weapon, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. You can actually see how balanced and well-made it is in how easily you are able to wield it with one hand. When I watch these types of videos (which I confess, as a sword collector, I do a lot), I cannot help but think whether or not I would personally choose the featured weapon for actual 'life or death' combat. From what I can see, this sword really fits the bill, and comes close to a perfect balance of strength, flexibility, agility, chopping, and thrusting power. Damn nice!

How did the handle get damaged? Did the last owner try cutting with the grip?

I honestly have no idea, looks like an animal was gnawing on it. Grip is still functional, looks worse than it is.

It was a chain saw blade, but no rust, killed a hog with it once. Everything he said is true, handles well, great balance, responsive blade.

eh the edge was ruined with a double bevel? why would you do that or does it come with a double bevel from Albion?

Because the edge was chewed up. This was a preowned that needed some touch ups.

Great sword, too bad you have to wait a year for it once you place the order. Albion makes great stuff but their ridiculous wait time makes their swords very inaccessible for a lot of people.

Try Christian Fletcher Swords. They offer the same product line as Albion but with a stated wait time of several months.

Thanks for the suggestion. I talked to Christian Fletcher and the wait time is the same unfortunately. Longer for his Heroic Line swords. His website states 12 months for standard Albion products.

Well, Lockwood makes a great longsword by all accounts. I'm getting their Type XVIIIb.

Yeah, I've thought about Lockwood and wished I would have purchased one back when they were all in stock on KoA's website. I missed my chance and they all sold out. They do seem a little expensive though for a glorified Valiant Armoury but they are no doubt nice swords. I'd rather have a Lockwood than Arms and Armour.

You can Half Sword without gauntlets with sharp swords.

Arms & Armour sucks. Cost the same as Albion,but are really sloppy work. Big gaps,wery bad grinding and uneven. Far from straight blades. Pommel ,grip and cross guards are not in line at all. Overall terrible quality. And i know what i am talking about,i have severall of them,and no,they are not allowed to hang on my wall's.

Sorry you've had that experience with them. I would say they're a little rougher than Albions however still excellent quality.
