This is the album I wish I could have heard back when I was 13-17 years old. I used to have really toxic friends who would bully me into completely changing my style and only wear super basic and girly clothes and I completely stopped listening to music I had used to love because it wasn’t pop music and on top of that I was questioning if I was bi and had no one to talk to because I knew those “friends” would bully me for it. Had I had this album to listen to back then I’m sure I would have felt less alone and like I could just be myself and not pretend to be someone I’m not just to fit in and be accepted by my so called friends that I didn’t even end up keeping anyways. I know the album will definitely help so many people who need it.

No it isn’t, it’s about his personal life struggles. The struggles of moving out and leaving his sisters in the house knowing this fighting would happen. He said it’s about discovering that love WASNT like that and if it was then he wanted no part of it. Maybe him discovering what love was, was about halsey but not the song in general

@@deadpoetstodd I kinda wanna start by saying that art is always up for interpretation so like there's absolutely no wrong answer here? but also in one of the interviews he said that it was inspired by his and h's breakup so it was in a way about her and their relationship. The general message is more like "hey I'm messed up and love that I know of sucks but you're helping me change that and I'm trying my best" Maybe better wording would have been "to each other/about their relationship" but the point still gets across I think?
