Dude why do people think a loss in WImbledon final in a thrilling 5 set match with that brutal 3rd set game would mean it's over for Novak. THe guy had won 2/2 GS till then, lost the Wimbledon final and wasn't beaten easily and then went on to win the final slam. He's 36 and has won 3/4 GS and made 4/4 GS finals and beating guys 16 years his junior. Not just the GOAT of tennis but one of the greatest athletes in all of sport.

It's no secret that Djokovic has always been my all-time favourite tennis player even before he established himself as the GOAT. I think he's highly intelligent, a wonderful family man and a thoughtful and charitable person. He puts a lot of thought into his words and actions on and off the court. I believe his imitation of Shelton's celebratory gesture was intended to teach the young upstart a lesson in manners and proper etiquette. It's one thing to be confident but to be brash, arrogant and disrespectful is tasteless and unacceptable. Djokovic has certainly earned all the respect and accolades he receives from both his opponents and millions of his fans worldwide. Shelton would do well to come down several notches and take a page from Alcaraz's book to learn how to be humble and respectful toward all players, especially toward Djokovic, the Greatest Of All Time!

Djokovic was on an absolute mission in both Australia and the US this year to prove a point - you can't keep "The MAN" down and he was back on court. Played 4 tournaments across both continents and won every single match, with the little matter of 2 slams of course. But I have to say that the final in Cincinnati was my favourite match - what a message from Djokovic that he was out to create an epic rivalry! Idemo!

@@OfficerDonut0 I would think that the "most disciplined" refers to the hours spent every day by Djokovic on flexibility that helps prevent injury and lets him move like that at 36 and on his diet. He's not broken up at his age - he's flying. And yes he has been known to let some emotion out on court breaking a racket every now and then - sure. Then again some other players were notorious salty losers and others again pick their bum and sniff their finger afterwards on every point. Every player is different!

Had Clay been played on as much as hard court (I can't say grass because it is only used in the UK and a few others), Rafael Nadal would be THE GOAT. Rafael would have won quite a few more majors, masters, 500's and Olympic gold(s). Likely a few Finals but not too many. Winning more non-majors would have given Rafael the motivation and focus to win more on other surfaces. 2. Until the ITF and ATP and Others look deep (bank accounts, transactions, cell and computer use including public ones) into the possible Bribery of the top two hundred (200) since at least 2022 to lose to Novaq, the Bribery is and has happened. White people will dismiss this, and also those non-White who want to be White. It is brainless to believe tennis is the only major sport where cheating is not allowed. White filthy rich people have likely Paid Off some or many in the top 200 to lose to Novaq just so he, the obvious White man (Rafael is not "White" and I will EASILY prove it to those who's brains are minute) goes easily above Rafael and Roger and all the women. The man is simply unreal. Nole must be from another galaxy, let alone another planet, and he's not finished yet. He's adapting as he gets older, and though rivals will try to figure a way of beating him, he'll already be one step ahead of them, and that's what makes him the superstar he is. Nole's not just the greatest tennis player of all time, but mentally the toughest, and by far the most intelligent, too. It's a winning formula that will see him bag a few more Grand Slams before he retires, and we're privileged to witness such greatness.

Men and women tennis is completely different sports, when he broke number 1 record for weeks at no 1 they brought in graff, he ending up smashing her record too. Now when he won most slams they started comparing with different women and he demolished those records, when he wins 25th will they compare him with wheelchair tennis? Novak is one of the goat athletes let alone just a tennis goat. What he has achieved with odds against him is remarkable very hard to put it into words. Simply amazing. The goat

@@markuse3472 Your theory is logical. It seems like a typical Slavic problem as the Slavic community is desperately trying to prove that their DNA is superior. Therefore bribery is very much possible for example it cannot be totally ruled out Nick Krygios was not paid to deliberately lose Wimbledon final in 2022 considering the facts that he had already beaten Novak twice prior to that. It is hard to say no to the the offer of above 5 millions USD even for the top ten players. Everyone knows that tennis GOAT is not Federer, Nadal or Novak. It's the one and only holder of 64 Grand Slam titles ( including Calendar Slam in 1970) Goddess Of All-time Tennis Margaret Court. To break her magnificent record it takes all Federer, Nadal and Djokovic's combined grand slam titles Federer 20 + Nadal 22 + Novak 24 = 66. Trying alone to even match her brilliant record would be a total waste of money.

Shelton proved that he is arrogant little kid. According to people who were on the march that day (not verified), Shelton yelled to his dad on the other side of the court "this guy has no serve" (so Novak could hear him) and he stared Novak down on net after he won the game with ace. Also, what the camera did catch, he told his father regarding Novak "he's shading" (I don't know what that means, but it can't be something nice). Also prior to the match, he refused to call Novak by his name, instead referring to him as "that guy", and commented also something like that Novak is good, but also Novak plays him for the first time, I guess implying that Novak should be afraid of him or something... One more thing that doesn't relate to Novak, but it bothered me, is his comment regarding that crowd supports him against "foreigners", like the players outside of the United States are invaders, illegal immigrants or something. After the match, he was like, I lost but it's nothing because I'm still awesome and cool, so I'll be back. Now, compare that with Carlos' comments, where he commented he is still yet to mature... the difference in attitude between them is amazing. So yes, Novak probably felt a bit provoked and wanted to respond a bit, and he was gentle considering the bitchslapping he delivered to Shelton. And now everyone's like ohh Novak provokes, even Shelton's dad commented on this. I guess Shelton can provoke, but Novak can't.

There are two specific situations in which media is allowed to cheer a tennis champion: 1- if you are black, it doesn’t matter the country you were from, better if it is a poor one. 2- if you are white, you must be from North America (except Mexico) or Western Europe. Any other situation you will be an underdog.

As far as Ben Shelton " phone" celebration , it is designed to taunt the opponent, since it appears rehearsed and choreographed . That means,it is impossible to claim that No1vak' s celebration was unsportsmanlike , but Shelton' s celebration after the match with Tiafoe wasn't .

I think Shelton was disrespectful in the way he expressed himself about he's coming match with Djokovic in such a cocky manner, he was not humble and so I think Djokovic felt no obligation to be overly warm towards him ln the end of match handshake, and since Shelton expressed himself with arrogance towards Djokovic during his interview with the press, Djokovic decided to humble him down a little bit by returning to him he is winning of thw match celebration gesture

This year the media stupidity was as apparent as ever... Here is Djokovic reaching all 4 slam finals, winning 3 of them at the age of 36, literally losing the calendar Slam for a few contested points and the press was riding the Alcaraz hype train hard AF... Djokovic lost at Wimbledon and the media articles were titled "long live the new king of tennis"... as if Alcaraz decimated Djokovic or something. Fast forward 2 months, Alcaraz didnt even reach the next slam Final, Djokovic beats him at Cincinnati, Wins his 3rd slam of the year and suddenly the media realized just how stupid they make themselves look each and every time...

The phone call from Nole is soo hilarious. It's poetic justice to what Ben had done to fellow American, Tiafoe. I think Nole like Tiafoe and just wanted to avenge him just a little against Ben by giving Ben a taste of his own medicine. Besides, I think Nole was irritated by Ben's college jock behavior on court, which is to annoy your opponent as much as possible which is inappropriate in in pro tennis. Nole looked badass doing it compared to Ben juvenile act of hanging up the phone on Tiafoe.

Alcaraz is an amazing talent, and not just that, he has proved that he is of the same calibre as the big three. However, I find it hard to imagine him leaving a legacy bigger than Nole's. For the sole reason that Nole achieved what he did despite having opponents in Roger and Rafa. Admittedly you could argue he likely wouldnt have excelled as much as he did without those rivalries, but how many more grandslams would he have won if they werent there? It's honestly just mindblowing how amazing a player he is, i find it hard to imagine anyone taking the goat title from him, ever.

And let's not forget that he did all that while being the ''bad guy'' aka the guy the fans were always cheering against. G.O.A.T

It should be noted that in the race for the year end at #1, Novak is only about 750 points ahead of Carlos. If Novak wants to end the year at #1, Carlos cannot win more than 750 points more than Novak, otherwise, Carlos finishes the year at #1 for the second consecutive year. In terms of live rankings, Novak is 3,300 points head of Carlos, but he has close to 3,000 points to defend, while Carlos has fewer than 500 points. In short, if Novak wants the year end at #1 for a record-extending 8th year, and wants to still be #1 until the 2024 Auatralian Open begins, he needs to win Paris Bercy and the ATP Final, since he will not be playing in Shanghai or defending his Tel Aviv or Astana points.

I think there is a strong chance Alcaraz finished number 1 this year over the GOAT only because I don't believe Djokovic will play a single tournament until Paris Masters, he's already confirmed no China, and there is very little chance he plays the 500's before Paris. As he said, its not his goal anymore, it's all about the GSLAMS. But, now its official, everyone will know who the best in the world is even if Alcara finishes with 1 because he's won 3/4 slams. And that's what really matters.

Djokovic was putting Shelton in his place as Shelton was being too cocky, and cheering his opponent's mistakes including missed serves too much, which is just poor sportsmanship.
