@@suryanideb7678 He mentions this exact queen check at 6:33. Either he has short term memory issues or he is trying to make a point about not assuming automatic recaptures, in this case bxc3. If it's the latter situation, his commentary definitely lacks clarity.

13:11 Instead of 2Nd5 my opponent plays 2Ne4. I’ve replied with d4 and as I’m checking Black’s possibilities I would say that 3.. d6 leads to a lot of pressure on the Night. 3..f6 could even lead to losing the Rook. Are we talking trap number 7 here? 😮

It's not a gambit at all. You're not giving any single pawn for free. It's just an unorthodox and sound defense as long as you know how to play it. Another example of an "odd" (not a gambit) and sound defense would be the dutch.

I've played about 10000 bullet games using alekhines defense, I don't think I'ver ever taken either e or c pawn with my d pawn in the opening :D that's insane, giving up castling for no reason at the minimum.

What's the move if they kick the bishop out? That's usually what beginner players do.

There's no reason to throw out the baby with the bath water. All the traps shown here can be avoided if you do your homework. Learn the main lines, and this opening should work out fine for you.

all of these lines can be avoided if you know them. Moves like h6 can prevent a lot of the aggressive bishop lines for example

A lot of these traps rely on black very poorly, making multiple mistakes. For example, just to take the first trap... a) Why is black playing Nxc3 (0:43), when they could push either pawn to support the knight on d5 instead? b) d5 is better than d6 (0:52), since it attacks a piece of the centre that white has left behind AND it means white can only take the d-pawn en-passant on the next move only. c) Nd7 is a simply a dreadful blunder (2:12). You shouldn't have made the mistakes that led to this position in the first place, but even then Qd7 is significantly better than Nd7, with the intention of going to Qf5, protecting f7 and threatening white's bishop on g5. In summary: virtually all respectable openings have traps if the other side doesn't play correctly. The point of learning about them using videos like this is so that you don't fall into them, or to punish players who play the opening badly.
