(My first budgies ever, but i've done mountains of research, spoke with tons of budgie moms etc) Today was the first day one of my three budgies stepped up onto my finger, for some millet. I'm super glad they're starting to trust me, its been about five days since I first got them. All of them eat millet out of my hand, while my hand is in the cage. I've been getting growled by my parents because I always explain why they shouldn't do something to the birds, etc leave millet inside, chase them with your hands, certain dangerous toys (Which mother was very excited about, she ordered a happy hut specially because she thought it would make them happier, So I just pretended it needed washing. I feel terrible, but hopefully it comes out ruined so she gets rid of it. I hate making people feel like they get no input, or making them feel like something they did wasn't good enough, but I love these lil guys already Also, the budgies hardly use it when its in there, unless she comes in lol, smart lil bubs!) I needed ideas for activities we could all do together (Siblings, parents and I) and this is amazing! These toys will be safe, AND people won't get as mad because I'm ruining the experience of bird keeping for them :) Thank you so much!!!

Hey I think you should Train them for at least a month so they get used to you and your family. I am suggesting you a channel named-‘Elle and the birds’. She has video for training birds, how to play with them, how to take care of them and you can also teach them some tricks it’s on her channel. Check it out. She has some great content. There are some more channels like-‘Denny the budgie’. ‘Salvador the budgies’. And this channel it self. And I am not sponsoring any of these channels. I just love to help people with my point of view.

I got mine recently and I’m sitting next to their cage and watching bfdi and talking to them, soon I will be putting my hand it the cage leaving their for a few minutes and not moving it, I do step up straining once their less skittish

They seem to be much better now. On a previous video, he mentioned that he received messages on his channel from people saying his other budgies (Cookie, Jill, Biscuit) may have died from a particular illness due to contact with pigeons (Jack used to come from an aviary where he lived with pigeons). Alen noticed some of his surviving budgies have this same illness and were having breathing problems and swollen necks. He bought medicines which he added to their water everyday for a few weeks and now the birds are recovering well.

I used to rise budgies, love birds and cockatiels. One thing I was told by a person that raised birds for Hartz was to put some king of salt block in the cages, even if you give them a mineral mix. the Mineral mixes don't have salt in them and all animals need salt. But do not give table salt a animal salt block is best.

OT My four budgies no longer preen each other. I adopted all four at the same time from Pet Smart. My avian vet declared all four very healthy.. There is some bickering but nothing unusual. Should I be concerned?
