Redmond makes a powdered popcorn salt, just FYI. I use it on home-fried pork rinds done in the air fryer. Also make my own ranch seasoning with no bad additives like maltodextrin, and pure apple cider vinegar powder, also with no additives. All of those would work great on these. Thanks, Chris, for another genius recipe!!!

I don’t think I have room for eight cookie trays in my oven lol Thanks for the recipe.

Chris, are these firm enough to fry in tallow instead of going into the dehydrator?
@ChrisCookingNashville13 сағат бұрын
Maybe. But the issue you have to consider is that proteins don’t fry the same way starches do. In my experience protein turns dry and crumbly without ever getting crispy when fried too hot like that. Maybe it would work for this. But I’m not confident.

@Chriscookingnashville question: the egg powder has recently been found to have lecithin in it that wasnt there before. do you suppose this will affect the chips? i am lucky to still have the pre-lecithin stuff but wanted to make sure and ask!!! thanks for the hard work to make larger batches...nobody eats just one!! im also wondering if mashed potato extract would be good in this too? i have an excalibur dehydrator that may just get dusted off for something other than jerky now!!! (chips n sour cream because now ill make my own sour cream ranch dip mix!!)
@nataliajimenez187020 сағат бұрын
I think it shouldn't be an issue. The problem is in recipes where you are trying to create a foam with the egg white powder (like the cloud breads)
@ChrisCookingNashville14 сағат бұрын
Not an issue for this recipe because we don’t have to whip it. Great way to use some for those who ended up getting it with lecithin and don’t mind using it but can’t use it for shipped recipes. My pleasure! Potato extract might be good. Never used it for anything myself so not sure.

What did you do now!!! Fantastic and still carnivore this is an excellent recipe Chris, thank you. The kids are thinking about going carnivore, harder for my granddaughter’s wonderful husband who has a great garden, he brought home non gmo seeds from deployment which are what the rest of the world is eating, growing less toxic veggies suggested in Toxic Superfoods. 😊 Arugula is taking over our very nutrient dense soil, we tried having a cow and a goat but they kept jumping the fence keeping our neighbors busy. 😂

This is just ridiculous and I'm so here for it. Like how did you even come up with that idea? So thankful to you for this recipe . I'm so out of words for real 👍😋 Hmmm, any idea how to make vinegar powder for my salt and vinegar seasoning? Do I mix both ingredients and then dehydrate? thanks!

Hello! Thank you so much. Haha. I love doing crazy recipes. Yes if you mix vinegar and salt you should be able to add that to a tray and dehydrate and the powder it. You can also buy vinegar powder to skip the dehydration step if you like. 😊

@@ChrisCookingNashville Thank you so much, found it on Amazon. Can I air fry them instead?

Maybe. Depends on temperature. The thing you want to be careful of is getting them too hot. High temp leaves them dry and crumbly without getting crispy because protein react very different than starch. Might take some experimentation to find out.

I wonder if you could spritz them with vinegar and a bit of salt before dehydrating them.
@ChrisCookingNashville21 сағат бұрын
Absolutely. You can also buy vinegar powder that would work. 😊👍🏼

@ChrisCookingNashville thanks 😊 I tried using a ranch powder on chicken chips, but it burned so badly I had to throw them out, they were black 😥 I'm afraid of using powders now. Lol. But I know the temp I was using was much higher than if dehydrating.

Yeah in a dehydrator at the low temp that wouldn’t be an issue.
