Hello Rob, nice drumming! I just bought the kit and unfortunately the bass drum is very loud for me. Do you think the mesh head upgrade on the bass drum will be a solution?

@Attila Varga. Yes buddy the mesh head conversion will make a big difference.

Mod is straight forward, just download from alesis site and link to drums module to transfer it to its memory. Mesh heads make a massive difference, I would real recommend great sounding kit. I don't know if you have seen my vid on ezdrummer sound on those are even better.

How easy is it to do this mod? I am looking for a quiet cheap electronic kit for the apartment complex I live in. Are the mesh heads significantly quieter than the stock ones?

There isn't that much in it. The double ply is slightly louder because if the two surfaces.

@kmadrumming hey dude how do you mean which way have a put the mesh heads on? I've got several other videos explaining how to convert the pads and set up the sound module. Hope it helps.

+acewelding I get this reply Sorry for any confusion the VST version of this has just been updated, which you can use with your computer and Midi with your kit. Is this what you are after, the onboard library version has not changed.

The zed hed are double ply and roland single. Roland will be more expensive and arguable better quality. I've not had a problem with the zed hed, the are any triggering and don't affect the sound. Ps you can also get zed hed in single ply.
