Soo delicious! I remember my Nonna making this cake and she would add some Strega liquor on top.. It was amazing! She would also add Amaretto DiSaronno to her almond biscotti. We started tasting all these liquors at a young age. Haha! Thank you for sharing all these wonderful recipes, they bring me way back.. Tell Zio Enzo I am waiting for his videos :)

Thank you so much! For breakfast my nonna would beat egg yolks, sugar and add a little Vov liqueur plus espresso. To sum it up…raw eggs, alcohol and caffeine for the breakfast of italian champion children. 😂🤣😂😂 btw nonna used Strega in everything. 💖 I called zio Enzo and he was tickled from your regards. I hope to get back soon for more videos. It was so much fun and so inspirational. 💚🤍♥️ live to share all my recipes. Grazie for watching

@@alessandrasfoodislove My Nonna used to do the same thing with the egg yolks and sugar 😂😂 what a breakfast that was. My “American “ friends would laugh at that 🤣 They used to get a kick out of my lunch sandwich which would be mortadella, prosciutto, etc. while they were eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I always felt lucky to be eating delicious food. I love your videos, keep them coming. You bring us soo much joy. We need Zio Enzo to make some videos also, that would be a treat ☺️

@@filo8582 you have me laughing. I only fly with a mortadella sandwich!! Lol I was offered $50 to sell it but I shared. 💖 I’ve learned to like peanut butter but my passion is Nutella. 😂🤣 Spoke to zio Enzo today e ti saluta. He is tickled that you ask about him. Hopefully I’ll get to go to Italy soon. I consider it a miracle to have gone last month. Let’s see what the future brings. I sometimes stay awake thinking of all the videos I still need to do. Hello Alessandra Why do you use more sugar and flour in this recipe vs what you used in the apple one? thank you
@alessandrasfoodislove3 жыл бұрын
Hi Larisa, For the plain pan di Spagna I usually use as a base for a dessert like Rum cake so I like a little thicker consistency being that it needs to get wet with simple syrup and/or rum. With the apple cake you want an extremely light mixture yet still keeping in mind the right balance between eggs and dry mixture otherwise it can be too eggy tasting. Hope this helps. I’m super excited to be sharing soon my mom’s twist cookies. Thank you always for watching my channel. 💖

I tried your sponge cake recipe but I think is to dense to my taste. Sponge cake should be really light and spongy. The flavor is delicious don’t get me wrong. I love all your recipes😋
@alessandrasfoodislove2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching. Due to the lack of fat in the recipe it is a drier cake. Perfect to drizzle with limoncello. I also add cold espresso and whipped cream.

I have a question; when I measure out the flour ( 2 1/3 c) it equals about 342 grams. To get to 300 grams, I am removing about 1/3 c of the flour. 😩. What do I do, use the gram measurement or the 2 1/3 measurement. Thanks
@karengadaleta75573 жыл бұрын

Thank you so much for watching. No leaving at all. What makes this cake rise is the air incorporated in the eggs and sugar when whipped. Few details to follow and so worth it. You can add vanilla extract or the zest of a lemon 🍋 if you like. Thank you 💚🤍♥️let me know how it turns out.
