This Song and Video were Recorded in 2021 in the Hight of Covid Pandemic, Alessia Cara Lives in Canada and The Warning Live in Mexico, so they couldn't get together to record the song they did everything over the Computer Alessia record her parts in Canada and The Warning in Mexico, the same with The Video, last year in LA The Warning and Alessia Cara finally got together on Stage at the Troubadour

The Warning definitely pays homage to their predecessors. Of the four bands they covered most as young artists, they have now opened for 3 of them (Foo Fighters, Guns N Roses, Muse) and kicked off the Blacklist album for Metallica.

This is a real work of art. The B&W giving a creepy feel. The story goes that they got in on this project a little late and only had a week to write, film and submit it. It was during lockdown and Alessia is from Canada so they had to collaborate remotely, which is why her image is shown as a projection. I think it works great that way. Filmed in an abandoned textile mill near Monterrey, it was also home to a colony of bats. Creepy, an makes for a near perfect video.

I’m sure others have said this, but you need to check out their original Sandman cover when they were 14, 12 and 9, the cover that I believe really kickstarted their rise. It’s a true cover and I think is a nice contrast to their re-imagining we all love.

I guess that their manager, Rudy Joffroy, has a brilliance for envisioning stunning music videos on small budgets. "The Pretender' on a mountaintop. 'Martirio' in the desert. 'Choke' in a box. 'Evolve' in a garage. This one in an abandoned factory with extras from TWA. He was in Hollywood and had a bit part in 'Titanic' and was involved in several others.

There are a lot of bands out there who The Warning could cover, but they are focused on their own material at this point and I doubt they will be doing any other covers in the near future. But you are right, when they do a cover they own the song afterward. Maybe other bands are glad they aren't doing covers of their material. LOL You know, I've watched this video over a hundred times. I had never noticed Alessia's tee shirt. Good catch! BTW they are probably the best at doing striking music videos on a shoestring budget. Rudy, their manager, has Hollywood connections form his past. He worked on several feature films like Titanic.

Another great reaction to a performance I can't get enough of - studio, live, doesn't matter. I hate to use the phrase, "great, especially considering...," but to put this together in a week during the pandemic with an artist stuck in another country? That's a whole different level of talent. I hope no one actually took issue with your liking their lightning bolt to Marilyn Manson's. I didn't, although I do prefer their "The Warning" logo. I only discovered them last year at Summerfest because I was looking through the "no-name" bands on various stages and saw their logo on the sign. I just read a blog where two (what i know now) metal elitist . Where they listened to all the songs on Metallica's blacklist album. The Warnings version was the first.They completely trashed the song. Not one good thing to say. Only a lot of very ugly comments. If they had simply said they didn't like it I would have just moved on.I was so mad about the things they said. that I wanted to put their website on blast with the warning army. A few things that dawned on me changed my mind. First who cares what two nobody's think. Second was the thought of how much and how many people love this version. I can't think of a better revenge. Well maybe one . But most importantly its not what The Warning would want to be done. So I'm going to take the high road. And hope Pau will someday write a song about them.
