The jury in the Alex Murdaugh murder trial saw a cell phone video taken by his son, Paul, on the night of the killings. Murdaugh is accused of killing his wife, Maggie, as well as Paul at their family estate in Colleton County, South Carolina in 2021.

That was absolutely Alex Murdaugh's voice saying comere Bubba. His voice is very distinct. His story changed. At first he didn't mention a nap. Then says he was napping and hadn't seen the victims since dinner. He clearly lied. He was with them literally minutes before their phones stopped being used. He also said that he picked up Paul's phone to.... and never said what. Then he called Paul's friend multiple times right at the time he was supposed to be finding the bodies AND DELETED THEM FROM HIS CALL LOGS. Who calls their sons friend immediately after finding the brutally murdered bodies of his loved ones? And multiple times? And then deletes the record of it? Plus he's wearing different clothes in the two videos yet doesn't mention changing clothes in his interviews. (Which BTW did they ever find those clothes? Did they even try?) I hope to God prosecution drives those things home.

Here's a theory: he wanted Maggie to take his father,s inheritance to protect it from law suits and she refused. He killed Maggie first and Paul started to come out. There was a rifle already in the shed and Paul grabbed it. Alex wrestled with Paul, gun went off and he had to finish Paul off - it wasn't in the plan. The steps on Maggie's phone were Alex putting it in the car, drove off and placed it by the side of the road. Just a theory

The steps thing has been a little confusing, but one thing is for sure, Alec's phone did not register movement from 8:05 to 9:02, that means he left the phone home when he went down to the kennels (as we can now know for sure from the video). Also offcers kept commenting on how his clothes looked clean and fresh when they arrived, he never said anything about changing his clothes but today we see him wearing different clothes on the snap chat video with the tree...did law enforcement find those clothes? Will the defense NOW not deny Alec was at the kennels and try to explain that away? Will they produce the clothes he was wearing earlier that day? Because that is the only way they can get out of that pickle....

So far no insurance has been found for either Maggie or Paul. But at least one house was only in Maggie’s name. The only way Alec could use their property either to sell it or refinance it to continue to cover his financial crimes. I don’t think Maggie would go along with using their property to cover up his crimes.

Even if Alex is found not guilty in this murder case, he’s got a mountain of court cases piled up for his stealing from clients and insurance fraud. Either way, because of all the financial crimes and cases coming he’s very likely going to be in jail for several more years unless his bail is low enough for him to get out (and flee to a non-extraditing country).

Correct. And I think that hurts the State’s case. The Jury may be less inclined to convict unless there is Compelling evidence. If there is any question of his involvement the Jury may just take the easy way out and find not guilty and lean on the Financial Crimes
