As a professional singer for a long time I'm here to tell you.... There are MANY DIFFERENT kind of voices. Not ALL SINGERS are RnB, heady, heavy vibrato, constant riffing and runs. Singing/performing is storytelling and sometimes that story is mellow, soft, lilting...sometimes it's aggressive, sometimes it's simple, sometimes it's complicated. AND then sometimes it's just production...however....and none of these things are mutually exclusive. And then we all have our tastes however these days I feel like people equate vocal acrobatics with good singing and they're not the same thing!!!

@@zaizai2639 well it's the genre where there's the most unexperienced people compared to others because of how accessible and easy to be a rapper/rap compared to singing so there's a lot of not so great stuff that gets praised. Now of course rap being accessible to a lot of people is great bc writing and creating is something good but still there's a lot of not so great stuff. If we were in the eighties she wouldve talked about rock bc it was the genre that a lot of new artists went to and that lead to more bad popular music. Rap is the number one genre rn, its popularity is unmatched so there's just more bad stuff that has success. I'm sure she doesn't think rap is bad, just that good artists who do other genres do not get as much as much praise as they should compared to not so good rappers who now gain sucess more easily.

This song is how i found out about Alexa Demie. I didnt know who she was, i wasnt obsessed with her or anything like that, but i loved the song and thats the reason i started following her work. The song is good, and just if you dont like it doesnt mean its bad and people dont enjoy listening to it. I just found this video for the first time, I had no idea Alexa made music. I found out about her through Euphoria, phenominal actress by the way.
