I swear, I was questioning my own ears. Was it Malofeev's heart and soul that I saw pouring out along with his music that caught me? Why am I attracted to his music as to no others? So I listened. To lots of other pianists. Finally, I listened again to Alexander and closed my eyes so as not to be distracted by the beauty I saw. It was just notes. Tones. Dynamics. .....and I am just as caught as before. This young man is simply brilliant. One of the best, if not The best, of this century and the century before.

@Diana -- your last sentence, "turning music into something so much more," that's EXACTLY what I feel about Alexander's performances...it's so much more than the music. It's the manner in which he presents it to the world. So hard to put into words, that's how wonderful it is.

I listened to Alexander play Liszt's 'La Campanella' when it was first posted on You Tube. Having recovered from that breathtaking experience, I wondered, "Will he ever be able to play Liszt's No1.?" And here we have it! Alexander is able to use his unequaled technical talent, refined and perfected over the last ten years, to awaken the underpinning emotional content of this work. He never fails to hypnotize us into coming back again and again - always finding ourselves refreshed and ready to face the world in a happier and more confident frame of mind. Comments below say he is "the greatest pianist of his (and the last!) generation. Extravagant claim? Maybe. But this performance, by one so young, makes It hard to deny its truth. Having followed you all these years, I know such praise will not go to your head, but inspire you in your wonderful, dedicated commitment to your art, your audiences and KZbin viewers worldwide. Thank you, Alexander.

‘I can’t wait until he comes to the US to hear him play ‘in person.’ After listening to him conquer Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto #2 at the age of 15 which was absolutely stunning as well as played with absolute perfection-no mistakes, no miscues, no errors whatsoever, I would travel to the four corners of the US to hear him live. He absolutely dazzled the audience. I believe he is the finest living pianist on the planet or shall I say, a young ‘V. Horowitz alongside Martha Argerich. Had I heard him play the Rachmaninov PC #2 blindfolded I would have sworn it was being played by a very experienced pianist such as Madam Argerich and certainly not by a 15 year old boy. He is absolute perfection. Watching his hands glide over the keyboard is almost as fantastic as listening to his perfect playing.

Another historic recording from our finest living pianist, working in complete unison with this magnificent orchestra. Alexander plays as a member of this association of superb musicians as the Principal Musician. "Soloist" is not a suitable term at this level. "never seen any other artist with such an affinity for the orchestra". I have been pondering exactly this. His solo part is so much a part of the whole piece.

What a wonderful performance! My biggest regret is I'll probably never live long enough to hear you perform live here in the UK. You have an amazing talent - achieved through many years of total dedication to your art! Please stay safe, Alexander.

If I was a member of your family, I would ask all to chip in and pay for you a flight to wherever A M. is performing and a ticket to the concert, and hotel expenses. Oh, and all meals paid. 😁 God bless.

Bravi tutti. Bravissimo oltre ogni dire questo splendido, in tutti i sensi, giovane, mai abbastanza lodato, mai sufficientemente apprezzato. Bravissimo! E' stato un grande piacere, ringrazio sentitamente. [Today, April 25, 2022, Holidays in Italy, I had the great pleasure of listening to this Liszt Concert in the daily RAI programming, but by pure chance. But also perfectly on time, from the beginning to the end, without any comments (some comments are heard in this Recording). A joy, a pure enjoyment: all known, all new: the Liszt Concert as such, the performance of Aleksandr Dmitrievič Malofeev, (Александр Дмитриевич Малофеев), with the Rai National Symphony Orchestra of Torino (Italy), masterfully conducted by Maestro Luisi . As if I had never seen or heard anything, I participated in amazement in this masterpiece. The notes followed one after the other, with only one apparent simplicity, grainy, distinct, clear, brilliant, with pure and very clean sonority. It was like listening to a very simple piece, like one of those little pieces you put in a beginner's hands, so that you can practice "making the first notes". Really, nothing could be further from this, which nevertheless appears to be true for the incredible skill of Александр Дмитриевич Малофеев, this never too celebrated artist. The keyboard was lightly caressed by the pianist's hands, who also performed in daring scales, in phantasmagoric jumps, where almost anyone else would have made a mistake and took a chord for another and not just once, in beats with intense and delicate phrasing. and, when required, strong and virile. Aleksandr's famous technique? Of course there was, and how. But invisible, as if this exceptional, kind and gentle pianist was having fun with a couple of easy notes, just to play. Moreover, the Concerto is by F. Liszt, one of the greatest virtuosos of the piano of his times: everything that Liszt wrote has a very high difficulty, both from a technical point of view and from an expressive and emotional point of view. All this is present here and perfectly respected, but made extremely delicate by the skill of Aleksandr D. Malofeev, the Conductor M ° Luisi and the excellent Orchestra. The performance was accompanied by the "Pathetic" Symphony n. 6 by Чайковский (Tchaikovsky), very well performed by the Orchestra and Maestro Luisi. Without any comment in the recording. I confirm my great pleasure in having been able to enjoy the great skill in an absolute sense of this excellent world-class pianist, a unique star in the musical and artistic firmament, unique for brilliant light, for distance from any other. I could not resist the temptation to write to publicly praise the artistic sense, the musical and expressive sensitivity, the obvious executive skill (of course, only for the well-known exceptional technical ability, without equal, of M ° Malofeev). Good job, everyone. Very good beyond all words this splendid, in every sense, young amazing pianist, never praised enough, never sufficiently appreciated. Very good! It was a great pleasure, thank you so much. Sorry for the length. But for this exceptional pianist this is nothing. less than nothing.
