This machine has a compound feed or triple feed or unison feed. That means it uses three types of feeding mechanisms. The drop feed, needle feed, and a walking foot.

Nice machine demo and history behind it. I looks like you hurt your right index finger and nail. Hope that wasn’t a needle stick!.. Be well, Michael

This machine looks just like my old 1980's Juki LU1114-4 that hardly anyone knows about.

@@AlexanderDyer it has a Mitsubishi needle positioner on a 220V motor. I would like to swap it with a modern servo with a syncronizer. Hoping it can preserve its backtack functions.

Awesome video I just pick up Lu 562! I love it and it is my first machine. It was kind of beat up and vary dirty but I cleaned it and started to train myself how to use it with your help so thanks! I am having trouble with what I think is called "puckering"? When I run the material through at any stitch length I get waves like the tension is to tight but I play with the tension on samples and can't figure out how to get flat after it stitches? I changed the needle to a new one and it helped but still see some. I'm using upholstery fabric and some light vinyl. Thanks!

That is a good machine and I'm glad I could be of some help. I would guess that you are on the right path. Sounds like your stitches are too tight. Make sure you are threaded correctly, just one little spot hanging up can throw the whole thing off. The bottom thread should pull out of the machine pretty easy then if all that adds up, try loosening your top tension and see how it goes. If you get a rat's nest on the bottom you have gone too far.

There are two buttons on the deck of this machine. One is to adjust the stitch length, and the other that is noted as "A" in the manual has no descriptor. What is the function of this other button? I just got one of these a few days ago and in the process of figuring it out. I also ordered a servo motor using your link on Amazon. As the old clutch motor is way to touchy as have been the case with the other Juki machine I just sold for this triple feed. Thanks for the help!!

That is for resetting the safety clutch.

Hi Mr Dyer. I am going to look at a used one of these tomorrow. I am considering it instead of a new LSZ Sailrite for boat canvas work. Am I on the right track with this Juki? This will my first industrial machine purchase. How can I tell if it is worn out? Thank you!

Condition. How is it stored, is it currently in use, does it sew, is there sloppy movement, is it dirty, is it rusty, are there parts missing, is it properly threaded, what does the paint look like, has it been repainted. These are great older machines and I am a big fan but as you know condition matters. Sewing with a machine is a great way to infer it's condition. Can you imagine buying a care without starting it up to listen to it and take it for a spin?

@@AlexanderDyer Thanks for the great advice! The machine seemed pretty solid so I bought it. I have been watching your videos and plan to swap the clutch motor for a servo. Thanks for being such a good resource!

Alexander Dyer, thank you for the clear and helpful videos you produce and share. I have a problem with a Juki LU 563 which is stuck in reverse. How can I correct this problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a deep mechanical issue. Sometimes it is best to summon a professional.

Do think you could help me with this problem as I am learning to repair sewing machines. I would prefer to do it myself.

I help where I can but I don't know where to start. Maybe your motor is running backwards. I don't know friend, I am really just blind guessing.

Hi, can you maybe do a video without material showing how the feed dogs and walking foot interact? I have a Singer 111W153 and I did something and messed it up. Now the material just goes back and forth staying pretty much in the same place. Thanks

Hello. First let me say that you have an excellent channel! Second, I have been offered to buy a very lightly used complete LU-563, at $200 complete. So I am wondering what is the difference between the 62 and 63?

The 563 has the larger hook and bobbin, get it.

What size thread are you using on this juki lu562 ? ? Thanks
@AlexanderDyer4 жыл бұрын
I forget. I typically use Tex 105 Core Spun Polyester. I recommend it for denim, canvas and leather. It is a good place to start and then you can make changes based on your experience. Many people use Tex 69 Bonded Nylon but it is stiff and plasticy and not so nice to work with but then some jobs specify it so there is that. Mil-Spec.

Hi. I'm trouble shooting one of these machines right now and was wondering if you could tell where the needle enters the whole in the feed dog - mine seems slightly off centered and is possibly scuffing the thread on the left side of the needle upon entry... does that make sense? in other words, the needle is not centered in the dog feed. Wondering if that's how its supposed to be or not! Thanks
@EvergreenBushcraft9 жыл бұрын
Just looked at the video link below and see you have a different dog feed entirely... answers that!

do you have to have the industrial table for this machine? A family member has only the machine head and I was going to build a table for it to go in. How is this machine oiled?
@AlexanderDyer7 жыл бұрын
Most Industrial tables will work, just measure the base on the machine. I have one, DM me if you are local to the KC, MO area.
