For containers that are impossible to open to get the last bit of product, I just take a serrated knife and carefully saw the bottle open over a cutting board. Then you can just slide the top of the bottle over the bottom to temporarily close it while you finish those last few spoonfuls of product. Works great for me with lotions, cleansers, toothpaste... basically anything where I refuse to waste the last bits of my favorite product. Hope that helps anyone out there frustrated by missing those last little bits of your favorite products!!
@bonitamoore76798 сағат бұрын
I use a scissor for most of them. Super easy.
@pull_up_the_roots7 сағат бұрын
@ yep! Scissors work most of the time, but I've had a few thicker-walled lotion bottles that I need something with a serrated edge to get through. Hope that helps if you ever encounter the same!
@cosfreye7 сағат бұрын
I just commented that I hammer mine open on concrete, but a serrated knife sounds much more quiet and controlled 😂❤

You mentioned the scent with the Avene and it reminded me of something I just learned. A few brands add scent to different lines of products for the benefit of those with low vision/blindness. It is hard for the people in that community to reach for specific or corresponding products and the scents reaffirm that they have the right one. Thought that was cool and I'd share.
@PinCushionQueen13 сағат бұрын
That is very cool. Thanks for sharing.

Bond Hair Care - REDKEN Acidic Bonding is my favorite SALON line, hands down (it’s what we use in salon and have for years) the all white and silver packaging is more conditioning and moisturizing than the new, white and green which is “for curls”, but is actually just the silicone free option - I actually think its the “lighter” and prefer it for fine hair and the OG I prefer for curls… LOREAL - the Ever Pure Bond Repair is my favorite drug store recommendation (similar ingredient deck to Redken) with honorable mention to the Not Your Mothers Bond Repair line and Pantene in the GOLD packaging is a drug store repair line that has common ingredients to most bonding lines, even though its not marketed that way and I love their multi use detangle/heat protection spray on fine hair and their mask in the tub is HEAVY so only use it if you want A LOT of conditioning. OUIDAD has a FRAGRANCE FREE, silicone free, etc. bonding shampoo/condish I enjoy on all hair, straight to id say a good coil, but not the tightest curls - and they have their “unbreakable bonding drops” which is a VERY light serum you can use straight on fine hair or add to ANY styling product to add repair properties. Hope this helps y’all. ❤❤❤

I feel you with the drying mineral sunscreen! I have to use mineral sunscreen because it helps tremendously with my redness since it’s anti-inflammatory. The one that doesn’t dry out my skin THAT much, it’s still a bit drying but by far my go to. It’s the cetaphil Sheer 100% Mineral Liquid Sunscreen for Face SPF 50. It has vitamin E so it that kinda helps with the drying aspect.

I love that HaruHaru Wonder spf too but I heard they are no longer going to be allowed to sell the Korean spfs in America anymore. I just got another as a backup. I hope its not true.
@SamMKKK16 сағат бұрын
Same, regarding K18. I used two bottles and each time wondered what tf I was supposed to be getting outta dis. I’ve moved on to Redken Acidic Bond line and it’s nice, but the slip just isn’t there, and I need slip to detangle my curls… I might just go back to Olaplex tbh.
@ladyemma9415 сағат бұрын
Anytime I use something in a squeeze tube form (lip balms for example) I cut the tube open when it's "empty" to make sure I'm getting every last bit out 😂 even super inexpensive ones, I hate wasting any product if I can help it

I have extremely thin, fine hair with a very oily scalp. I have tried a lot of shampoos but most make my scalp itchy. I use either a custom Prose formula or Act & Acre which they call ‘skincare for your scalp’.

If you want an amazing hair treatment line recommendation for once you eventually run out of Olaplex, try Davines: Heart of Glass Collection. Wow, my hair is so shiny since using this particular line from them. Love your style, Alex!

For a mineral sunscreen the Summer Friday’s milky shade drops is my top recommendation. I have dehydrated acne prone skin and it active helped heal my skin barrier. I recommended it to anyone looking for a sunscreen when I worked at Sephora.

the axis-y No Stress Physical Sunscreen V3 is also amazing, literally feels like I'm putting a chemical sunscreen on and it's SUPER hydrating at least for me!

If you store your almost-empty containers upside down between uses, gravity will pull the remaining product down to collect around the bottle's neck. Then you can just unscrew the cap and use a Qtip to use up the last drops.

Kiehl’s ultra is magic at softening the skin overnight. I have to use something with emollients in it for evening and for the day too, since I use only mineral spf. Gel doesn’t have the emollients. Not a Crown Affair stan, but their dry shampoo is supreme for me. Takes a little longer to apply but so worth it.
@trevonharris161716 сағат бұрын
Please try the summer fridays I think it’s the mineral milk it’s so good & hydrating. Does not leave a caste and goes beautifully under makeup. That’s probably my favorite mineral sunscreen. As a melanated king I have to be very picky with sunscreens. Also Josie maran has a sunscreen milk I really really loveeeeeeee ugh and it’s mineral.

So funny you said mineral sunscreen dries out your skin. I’ve been using Pipette for a while now because of your recommendation. It’s great for my normal to dry skin. It’s so moisturizing. It’s great for my toddler too. He’s much more darker tone than myself and it melts in wonderfully. Slight white cast on him but who cares. My little one is protected.

Drmtlgy Daydream is a great mineral sunscreen that is very moisturizing and works great under makeup. Although, I absolutely ❤️ the HaruHaru Wonder sunscreen as well.
@rb375112 сағат бұрын
My two cents for moisturizing mineral sunscreen is Saie-either their Slip Tint (shades are flexible and forgiving) and SunVisor (glowy without too much time). Has skincare ingredients, doesn’t break my oilier but dehydrated skin out, is natural as can be…

If you watch Dr. Dray or Dr. Ellis, or if you watch cosmetic chemists like labmuffin or Ramon, they’ll all tell you mineral sunscreens aren’t necessarily more protective than chemical sunscreens

Omg I hate pump bottles where the product gets stuck at the bottom. and especially when it's expensive too. It's such a huge deterrent. I will find something else in a tube or airless pump instead.

ROBERT WELSH Blend Bunny palette. After watching you use this colour palette I tried to order one here in Australia. They were out of stock so I went on the wait list. I was notified of its availability at a discounted price but the order would not go through. The next day it did at the RRP. One day after receiving it was advertised again at the discounted rate. I wrote to them and complained and they have refunded the difference. That is a company I will recommend. Now to see if I can get a look as good as you. Philippa xx

Hey queen! Chemical SPFs actually cover a broader spectrum of UV wavelengths than mineral ones. Both are great, highly effective, and the difference is negligible, with the exception of UVMUNE 400. Korean SPFs have sunscreen agents that are less likely to be irritating, more stable upon exposure to sunlight, and much less likely to feel oily or heavy. All sunscreen is good sunscreen, so just use what feels and works best for your needs and preferences. Lots of love 🫶🏽
