Fairfield is a good option, but the other good options to choose are Sheraton and Santika. Both are beach front hotels. Or for a more luxury option, try Arumdalu Resort on the southwest side of the island

Hi Alexander, my wife and i have recently started to watch your videos of Indonesia. We came across your channel accidentally and we saw the flag of Indonesia which made us inquisitive. We must have watched at least 20 of your videos. We found your videos so interesting and today we finally decided to subscribe to your channel. We live in England (UK) I've lived here all of my life but my wife has only lived here almost five years. My wife is originally from Indonesia ( Purworejo). We met on a matrimonial website and i decided to go to Indonesia to meet her, to my surprise i fell in love with her and we got married within a 2 weeks in Tangerang Jakarta. My wife wanted to know which part of Indonesia your girlfriend (Kintaniya) was from???? Please continue to make informative videos of Indonesia as this will bring more visitors to the country and improve it's economy. We have been going to Indonesia every year for a holiday but unfortunately we weren't able to go in 2020. I don't even know if it's going to be possible to go in 2021. Our country is opening up on July 19 2021. We have advised to only go to green zone countries. I believe Indonesia is in an amber zone at the moment. And don't forget to visit East Belitung, namely Manggar City. Been here for 4 times.. Every time I come I always do hoping islands.. And succeded to climb up the lighthouse in lengkuas island after having lunch there.. Man! ithe views of the island was heavenly beautiful from up there... And I always want to visit Belitung again.. For me, Belitung island has the most beautiful beaches in Indonesia..

It's really rare to see foreigner visit outside of java and bali all they know just Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Bali and someplace around there. Even though there is many beautiful things to see beyond Java and Bali like Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua, Maluku and Nusa Tenggara. Every islands has their own natural beauties and cultures although it maybe hard to access some of the place as it lack infrastructure which is sad but it is the truth. I hope you can explore every place in Indonesia Keep it up.

the island covered the cost of the stay since we were filming but the villa prices range from 2mil to 10mil IDR per night depending which one you rent

A little piece of interesting info for the Aussie followers of Alexander's channel - Belitung Island is rich in the metal tin. When you fly into the island you can clearly see the scars of many small tin mining operations. The name Belitung can also be spelt as Billiton which of course is the name of the British company which merged with Australian internal mining giant BHP in 2001. I've been to Belitung several times and loved the simplicity of the place and the people. What I find incredible is that although so close to Jakarta, (1 hour flight I think) it is relatively overlooked as a weekend getaway destination for Jakartans. Amazing white sand beaches at Tanjung Tinggi far superior to Bali yet no development there. If you want peace and quiet, try Bangka Belitung.

Although not as popular as Bali or Lombok, Belitung is blessed with some of the best beaches of the country. The sand is soft and as white as palm sugar, and some even argue that the sand here is even whiter than that in Bali.

I don't know the right term to describe 'non-sticky sand'. Hahaha. Because that's the reason why I love Belitung, even though I have only visited there one time. I stayed in Santika Premiere Beach Resort which has an amazing view from the room balcony and the lobby area, ride a bike with friends to Tanjung Tinggi Beach, drink coconut water, bought some shells as souvenirs, etc. But unfortunately i'm not a water sports kind of person, so i didn't go to the snorkeling area with another group of friends. Some things that i love about Belitung is the fresh air, the calmness, the sky, the beach (of course, duh!), the people, the fresh seafood, the quiet Tanjung Tinggi Beach, and of course the hotel rate and the flight ticket price ! Actually, I shocked with the hotel rate and the flight ticket price (on average) because it's still affordable! Oh oh....and it's only about 45 minutes from Jakarta if i'm not mistaken! Belitung is definitely a must-visit weekend getaway! 💖💖💖 💖💖 .... (PS: one suggestion for you Jakartans who love convenience stores, you better bring all your favourite snacks/drinks before you stay at the hotel that I mentioned earlier since the area is so quiet and there are no convenience stores nearby 😆)
