My friend owns a vintage shop so he is constantly having to get stains out of clothing. He was telling me about a product called “La’s totally awesome, all purpose concentrated cleaner” that you can get for super cheap at the dollar general. You just spray it on the spot, let it sit for an hour or two and wash it. Hope this helps❤️

When I have a stain I can’t get out, I soak it in a peroxide and dawn solution before washing it and it usually works great!

If you can’t get out the stain, check to see if it shows on the inside. Many sweaters have the pretty pattern on the inside so I’ve worn a sweater inside out to hide a flaw. I’d also try some stain stick (let it sit for a day) the add borax in your washer with the detergent. It may work.

One time I had a cream sweater with an awful coffee stain on it and I was able to get it out by putting baking soda over the stain, pouring vinegar on top and letting it do it’a thing for a moment before pouring a little detergent in too. Sometimes it takes more than one go, but I just do this method in a bathtub or large sink so it’s easier to scrub out! Good luck!! ❤

I do the same thing when I’m on the fence about something! I’ve definitely gone from being super territorial at the bins and instead grabbing cute things and putting them on the top of the pile for someone else to spot who will fall in love with it. It’s been mentioned but OxiClean max force spray or Zote bar… both of them are great for pretreating and then washing how you normally would. 😊 I buy a lot of vintage and these - especially OxiClean - are my go to’s. Even used it on my sisters vintage wedding dress and it worked like a dream. 🧡

for the sweater stain, you might have success with Rit dye remover. I recently used that stuff on a few white tshirts that had sweat stains and it got rid of the stains! also Oxy Clean spray should work depending on the material.

Fels Naptha laundry bar, it’s a $1 bar of soap that has gotten every stain out of clothing i’ve ever had. Most grocery stores have it!

My grandma taught me to use white vinegar to get out stains. You pour a little on and rub it in. Then I spray some shout on it and let it sit for a little. After, I throw it in the wash and it usually comes out. It’s saved when I got acrylic paint on clothes and even blood. I hope this helps ❤️

I’ve had really good luck getting stains out with dawn dish soap. It works so good on food stains and oil, it’s even worked on removing a stain that had already gone through the washer and dryer (set in). I put it directly on the stain let it sit for a few hours then gently rub with a wet wash cloth and then run through the washer and dryer.

For the stained sweater, (if it’s not wool) get some powder oxi clean and soak it per the instructions for “heavily soiled” items. Then re-wash it with some fabric softener. I’ve only met a small amount of stains that oxi clean won’t get out.

I’ve gotten stains out with a soak in dawn dish soap mixed with a bottle of peroxide. Let soak for a couple of days and check when stain is gone.

I’ve used a stain remover called spray and wash (green and red bottle) and it’s always worked for me. Even on thrifted stains. It may take more than one wash, but it does come out. I also recommend that when you wash it, don’t dry it if the stain is still there. Spray it with the spot treatment and put it back in the wash. I find when you dry stains, it helps their longevity and binding with the fibers on the clothes.

And if you don’t want to keep using your machine, you can always hand wash it to save on water/ time. Fill a bin or your sink with water and some detergent. Let the garment sit for 10-20 minutes just soak and become pliable. Spray your spot treatment and wash. And just keep going until the stain is out.

If you can’t get the stain out, I highly recommend trying visible mending! If it was me, I would embroider a simple flower with some yarn, and then it’s unique and extra special 💕

For tough stains, try rubbing dawn dish soap (if you haven’t yet) into it & letting it soak for a bit before washing! It’s helped loads for some of my thrifted pieces ☺️

My go to for getting stains out for white items is usually vinegar diluted with water! It works most timed. Just let it soak for like 30 mins and then rinse it out and wash it!

For the last item try to use this green bottle named Soil Love. It works wonders removing stains, let it sit for a min or 2, then scrub it. They sell it at 99c stores. Hope it works!

I always use gall soap for stains and it’s awesome! In Germany you can buy gall soap in a bottle with a brush and I think the brush is the thing why you get every hard stain out so maybe you can try it ❤

I'm from the UK, and l found in a charity shop, a cleaning kit to help take stains out of fabric sofas (settees). You just dab it onto the stain, leave it for about 30 min and wash in the washing machine. It has got out every stain so far. Maybe you can get it from Amazon . The one l use is from DFS. Works wonders on my daughter's hoodies and sweaters.

In terms of the stain these are my Nan’s tips and tricks Rub tide into it let it sit over night and then wash like normal. That usually works If it’s grease based rub dawn dish soap into it let sit over night and then wash like normal Those are the tips that I know of.

For the stain, try Zout and Simple Green together. Spray them on, scrub it in and let it sit for a little while. Wash on the hottest setting possible. Also, I have used Oxyclean on white and cream colored clothing and that works really well too. I’ve also heard that there is a soap called Zote available on Amazon that is supposed to get tough stains out. I’ve never tried it but there are tons of videos on it on KZbin and it looks like it takes out just about anything. Good luck!😊

My go-to stain remover is a DIY mix of 2 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1 part dish soap. Spray, wait a while, wash as normal. I've never had it not work on something! I've used it on some older stains, but not on anything that came stained from the thrift store (yet). Works better than name brand stain removers I've tried for sure!

I have some stain remover ideas. Dawn soap- rub the soap gently with finger into the sweater -leave in for a few days. Next, put corn starch on the stain and leave it on for a day or 2 then wash normally. Next, put baking soda on stain and put white vinegar on the baking soda, let it set for an hour then wash. This would be my last resort buy a can of tuff stuff you can get in an auto supply store. Let us know if it comes out and what you used.

what I do to remove stains is I combine baking soda, white vinegar and laundry detergent to make a paste. then I put a generous amount of the paste on the stain and let it sit there for as long as possible... 2-3 hours. then I scrub the stain area with a clean toothbrush and throw the garment in the wash.

I would recommend oxyclean max force stain remover stick. That’s saved me from some intense stains multiple times (even a grease stain once!). If that doesn’t work you can always try soaking in a oxyclean bath. (I would put the oxyclean stick on and then soak it in oxyclean personally!). If those don’t work use rit color remover. Because the sweater is white it should just return it to a pure white. I’m not sure if rit works on knits but I’ve had lots of success with it fixing stain disasters before. Just only use it on white items cuz it will remove color!

Check what the jumper is made out of first (not something I would advise for synthetics) but if there's a super stubborn stain I usually put some washing powder and some boiling water in a pot on the stove, mix so it's all dissolved, and just carefully dip the stained area into the pot until the detergent has loosened the stain and voila it's gone! Be careful not to put the whole jumper in (and also not to scald yourself) but it should take like 15-20 minutes and usually it works for me 👍

What I usually use on old stains on delicate garments is either a spoon of coarse salt and lemon juice or baking soda and vinegar. I let it sit for 10/15 minutes and then do the regular washing. I think that sweater could also take some spot treatment with delicate bleach. I don't know any American brands but anything with sodium hydroxide and less than 5% sodium hypochlorite will do. Delicate bleach saved me more than once even on super delicate rayon and silk.

Try sun bleaching the sweater! You don’t even need to spray anything on it, just wet the spot and lay it out in the sun for a couple of hours. You may need to do it a couple times, but it’s always worked for the stains I can never get out with stain remover!

I haven't had a stain that wouldn't come out yet with spray Dawn, shout or some sort of pre-wash stain remover actually I use the one from Dollar tree and a bar of Fels-Naptha soap you can find it at Walmart or a grocery use those things and some sort of brush toothbrush whatever kind of brush you have this thing should come out😊

Alexa!! Amazon has a stain remover from shout that is VERY good. Its like $4. I thrifted a white ralph lauren long sleeve with stains ALL over it (it was too good to leave) and theres only one left that im trying to get out. It works! Its a squeezy tube with a brush at the end!

Try scrubbing the stain with water and a fels Napa bar. Otherwise soaking it in a bucket with denture cleaning tablets and water overnight. After either of those then run it through the washing machine. Those have helped me with some white pieces!

Different video!! like it!! For the stain you could try with percarbonate. I don't know which one it is but probably on the internet you will find it. There is in powder you do a paste with water and put it on the stain for some minutes. Maybe have a look on the internet as well for the procedure. I will try inside in a non visible place just to see if it affects the color although I have heard that it doesn't just in case.

Try adding half a cup of white vinegar to the wash (either in the pre-wash draw of your front-loading machine or if you have a top loader, add it once the water is full).You can use it with your normal detergent and fabric softener or just on its own. Believe it or not, your clothes will not come out smelling like vinegar, but it will brighten (not bleach) both your whites and colours and is great for removing smells. If that fails, try a spot stain remover. If THAT fails, try adding a bit of bleach to your wash.

I take my stains off with dawn dish soap(blue one) and mix it with baking soda(the non baking one) rub it in and leave it on for at least 10-15min. I put it in the washer/dryer and 9 times out of 10 it works.

You can use ”galltvål” as we say in Sweden. But I think it is called bile soap in English. It is the best thing ever. I managed to get rid of red wine from my white jeans and a white shirt. Good luck!

I'd either add a patch or embroider something on the sweater. Check out the patches that are meant for children - ducks, little houses, cool little things. However, if you haven't tried, definitely go on the stain by hand, with Marseille soap and a decent amount of violence. Alternatively, since the sweater is light, you can try adding a little bit of bleach to a pair of liters of water -but seriously, don't go overboard - and leave the sweater in for half an hour. Be ready to thoroughly rinse it right after or to throw it in the wash alone right after, though. And if possible let it air dry, even better if in the sunlight (but not necessarily), I swear stains treated with bleach that are still visible when the garment is wet sometimes just disappear when you let the item dry.

My queen! Unfortunately the only thing I can think of is letting the sweater soak in Clorox for a couple hours and washing it in hot water afterwards and letting it air dry! That’s how I usually get stains out of my lighter pieces
