Yes this is my *ideal* way of using the self car wash, and to be more specific, these are the details I appreciate: - Bring mitt & dry towel myself; - Use the jet to clean the brush first; - Use the brush to get some soap onto the car then apply mitt;

This was the best one I've found. Especially since a lot of self serve car washes dont allow buckets, the mitts + dabbing brush soap combo is a fantastic idea

I use a microfiber towel when washing, then once it gets slightly dirty, I take it to the rinsing station to rinse off excess dirt then use another side of the towel then continue to wash. I usually get more lubrication from the low pressure soap and the “triple shine polish” to clean. Then I add some detail spray when drying the car to boost some shine. If I’m lucky I’ll use the air dryer and get very little water spots

@Srt _ There's usually one at most self wash bays, it's in the middle either in the front or back, its just a sink, just has a knob to rinse off any dirt from a towel and those rollers to squeeze excess water off towels.

After watching all these videos, I’ll have a mitt for my wheels and a separate mitt for the car. I’ll use the foam from the brush only & use my mitt to wash the car. Thanks for the tips.

One thing I normally do is use 2 microfiber towels to wash the body with the soap then I go to the little water station if they have one to rinse my towel with the dirt off so it gets less dirt being rubbed after washing one panel

Thanks for the tip. Great idea, I was thinking of if I could slip my wash mitt over the brush and see if the foam will come through and wash my car that way. I already spray the brush off first.

Great job on the car but usually rims have stubborn brake dust so you’d probably need to bring a wheel brush to scrub them quick with some of the soap then rinse off.

Makes no difference if it's going to scratch anything whether you do straight lines or circles. Swirls are not circular scratches. They only look that way because of the way a light source reflects. In reality swirls are millions of straight line scratches all meshing together

Stupid question but if you don’t wipe the soap in will it still be clean if you spray it? Like if you cake your car in the soap then spray it down will it work? Or do you have to wipe the soap all over?

This man, just 100%, TOTALED his paint. I don't care how well the brush was rinsed. Never let it see the car. The mitt isn't bad in its self but it appeared dry so it was just pushing around dry foam and a semi moist car. very concerning. I would advise you to moisten the mitt prior to touching your paint.

Wax is always last, i recommend after spraying the entire car with high pressure wax entirely rinse of the vehicle with spot free rinse then dry the car. If you use wax, it’s important to dry the entire car off if it’s sunny. Your car will have spots if you don’t use the spot free rinse and dry it with micro towels. Hope this helps !!

I have a “wax” setting and a “spot free rinse setting”...should I use the spot free rinse after I use wax or should I just stop after using the wax? I have a black car so I really want to try and protect the paint as best I can...I also use a spray that’s supposed to protect it & add shine (I think it’s called maguairs quick detailer spray) but any tips for dark cars would be really helpful :) thanks!

I use spot free rinse after wax, because it is easier to dry the vehicle leaving little to no water marks, this step is critical especially during summer months when water drys on the car in minutes after completing a wash. Wax or quick detailer spray will not protect the paint but instead will add little shine to it. If you really want to see your vehicle shine, definitely check out Black Light by Chemical Guys.
