This was a great video. Although the Four Seasons George V is not in my budget, I enjoyed seeing it as there is so much history with it. Jeff Leatham still does the floral designs for the hotel. It was nice to see the Arc de Triomphe, again. I drove around it, as I was heading south toward Cannes. I came home on AirFrance, too! Love that airline.

We stayed one entire week at the George V 5 years ago, in a king room with terrace overlooking the interior gardens. It was sunny yellow and it was beautiful, but 5 years ago, it was 1250 euros per night, American Express Platinum Fine Hotel rate, which included full breakfast daily and a $100 hotel credit for other food. This was in July, so high season, but I cannot imagine the price of a suite today……….The pate’ de foie gras does look fabulous though, and I remember all the flowers and personal notes from the manager. Also the Sheik was staying at the hotel, and we were having dinner in the lobby restaurant when he came downstairs, and the piano player started playing “Some Day My Prince Will Come”. Very funny memory. And looking over the courtyard with all the hanging purple orchids was divine. Enjoy!

I'm looking forward to flying to Paris/Marseilles for a Mediterranean cruise from Marseilles to Rome and then staying at the new Rocco Forte de la Ville ( which used to be the Hotel Intercontinental de la Ville, my hotel for 45 years) in October, for three weeks. It has been very sad having our wings clipped during 2020/21, and I can't wait to fly overseas again! God bless. Keep traveling - it's the best thing in the world!

P.S. You want to look up Air France website for their current list of requirements. Last I checked regarding this trip in July, PCR was not required if you're fully vaccinated. In that case, all you needed to show them at the airport was your vaccination certificate.

It was a memorable dessert at the end of our first dinner in Paris eons ago! My second favorite dessert is a tie between creme brûlée and profiteroles. I never prepared île flottante but had fun making spun caramelized sugar for croquembouche and bûche de Noël. Julia Child shows inspired me to experiment making these special desserts for our family Christmas parties. *4 SF French bistros with a cool Parisian Left Bank vibe : 1. Matilda French Bistro-île flottante (near SFMOMA) 2. Absinthe brasserie and bar (Hayes St., near Davis Symphony Hall & SF Opera House) 3. Cafe Bastille (Financial district...in Belden Place, epicurean alley with outdoor seating/patio heaters) 4. Chapeau! (restaurant/Inner Richmond district...The chef used to give diners a small cone of cotton candy at the end!) Thanks again for taking the time to vlog on your business trips!

Also, one of the best lunches in Paris is across the street at Le Relais de l'entrecote! Cant beat the Golden Triangle for shopping either!

There is a main bathroom in the suite that she didn’t show in this video. If you look at her other videos you will see the main suite bathroom , which has the type of lovely products you noted you like to view in these videos - as they are all quite similar. 😁 I like looking at the bathrooms for those yummy goodies too so I can see the brands. Ritz, George V, Cheval Blanc, Royal Monceau to name a few as I'm looking for more to add to the list. I like their vibe - I feel at ease in their settings...the kind that don't try too hard to be luxurious. Four Seasons is about simple elegance, Ritz is more of a luxurious elegance. Royal Monceau and Cheval Blanc are modern elegance. I guess the common denominator here is elegance, the kind which luxuriates you yet you still feel comfortable in it. Great question!

Thank you for sharing this vlog as this hotel used to be in one of my bucket list. I got teary eyes and I say “OMG, Oh my goodness, so pretty, wow..” from the starting of your video. I’ve always wanted to go here and see how it looks like one day. Unfortunate, I’m afraid to go France now as I’m wearing hijab and I’m really afraid the locals hated the muslim. Anyway, thank you so so so muchh.. it’s like I’m already there. ♥️:’) This video means a lot.
